School News You Can Use
Happy New Year!
Welcome back to all of our May Sands Manta Ray families! We hope that you all had a wonderful and relaxing break with family and friends. As we come back to school, we need to remember that consistency is key to make the transition back smooth for our children.
Mornings can be hard if children are not well rested or have been accustomed to sleeping in later than usual. See the attached article below on tips of how to get out of the door on time. Creating a routine is essential for your kiddos.
Give to our Annual Fund!
Thank you to the following families who have given to the annual fund so far this year:
The Godoy's
The Bittner's
Your contributions will help provide new furniture for the Blue Tang classroom, educational materials for ALL classrooms and funding for enrichment classes. Please take a moment and think about donating today!

Aftercare Changes
The new year also brings about a shift in our aftercare programming. Mr. Kevin will be taking over on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays while other staff members will be stepping in on Wednesdays and Fridays. Mr. Kevin will continue to host the Dungeons and Dragons programming on the regularly scheduled days. We love Mr. Kevin and all he has done for our school so far, but we would also like to find an alternative instructor.
If you or someone you know would be interested in running our aftercare program we are looking for a permanent aftercare instructor from 3:00-5:45 every day. Please contact Rachel@maysandsmontessori.com for more information on compensation, and other details.
Volunteer/Service Hour Opportunities
We have several volunteer opportunities that can be done on your own time! Please email Ms. Sandy in order to schedule time to come in and work on the following projects:

AMS: Family Connection- January 2025
Take a moment or two to read this month's edition of the American Montessori Societies (AMS) Family Connection. This is a publication specifically for families of AMS member schools to give helpful information on how to bring Montessori into the home as well as extensions, advice and other useful tools.
This month highlights the beauty of multi-age classrooms and one of our favorite materials in Primary and Lower El, the moveable alphabet. Enjoy!
