FREE weekly one hour workshop Real Kids Real Food
What can you do to help children develop a healthy lifestyle from a young age?
As a parent of children aged 3-18, sign them up for our FREE weekly one hour workshop Real Kids Real Food or help spread the word. The program runs Saturdays from September 26 through to November 21, from 11AM-12PM EST. The workshops are designed to help kids experience how to plant their own veggies, prepare delicious recipes, learn nutritional facts, engage in fun & enriching activities, make friends, and practice mindfulness. The teenage program focuses on discussion and taking action re Climate Justice and nutrition.
Since our successful health program was founded in 2008, Real Kids Real Food has received the Humanitarian Service Award for our work helping inner city kids develop healthy lifestyles. For families facing food insecurity, the ingredients used for the recipes prepared in our Saturday workshop each week are delivered to their homes through Amazon Fresh at no cost to the family. This program is open to all children. See attached flyers for more information and enroll your children at www.realkidsrealfood.org. For any questions, please call Betsy Bragg at 617-835-2913 or email betsy.bragg@icloud.com.
If you are interested in improving your own health, you can join our successful virtual adult program called Eat to Thrive. This program runs Thursdays, September 24 to December 3 excluding Thanksgiving, from 6PM-8PM EST. By joining this program you will receive 20 hours of online classes focused on nutrition, mindfulness, exercise and transforming your lifestyle one habit at a time from highly experienced health educators. You will also have an opportunity for hands on food preparation which can be done from your own home. In addition, participants will receive 27 informative DVDs, two recipe books, and our 386 page Eat to Thrive manual to help enrich your experience. For registration, more information and testimonials from previous participants, visit www.EattoThrive.info. Scholarships and delivery of food ingredients are available.

Reminders:
- When logging in to their Google Classrooms and Meets, students must log in with their district email addresses in order to keep the sites more secure.
- All families with children between the ages of 0-18 are eligible for free meals through December. Meals are available for curbside pickup between 12:00-1:00 on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. If you are interested, please email Tina Crossman at tcrossman@mtrsd.org to register.
- Now that we are getting settled into a routine with remote learning, please make sure you email your child's teacher if s/he is going to be absent. Attendance is required and being taken every day and knowing if someone is going to be absent can help teachers better plan for the day.
