WSP Pipeline to Success
On Tuesday 13th August four senior HBHS students attended 'Pipeline to Success', an event showcasing pathways in Civil Engineering and Surveying. Students were transported to WSP in Ahuriri, Napier where they mixed with staff who shared their knowledge on areas of expertise within WSP. They heard from recent recruits, learnt about training pathways and potential cadetships, and enjoyed an afternoon of hands on activities.
A fantastic day was had by the students, a big thank you to E2E (Education to Employment) and WSP Engineering Consultants.

IGCSE Parent Information Evening
On Wednesday the 21st of August we held a parent information evening in the library to discuss the IGCSE Exams offered at Hastings Boys' High School, and there was a great turn out. The IGCSE curriculum that we are delivering this year to some of our Year 11 students is proving to be very successful. Both the teaching staff and students are enjoying the new courses, and we are confident that we have made a good decision to widen our delivery of these courses. In preparation for next year, the school held this information evening on how Cambridge IGCSE will work next year. Some excellent questions were asked by whānau who attended, and we look forward to running with the programme in 2025.

Staff Daffodil Day
On Thursday 22 August the Hastings Boys' High Staff hosted a morning tea to raise funds for Daffodil Day. 1 in 3 Kiwis will receive a cancer diagnosis in their lifetimes. Each day 74 Kiwis hear the words, “You have cancer.” Daffodil Day is a chance to show your friends and family affected by cancer they're not alone. Daffodil Day is the Cancer Society's most iconic and much-loved fundraising campaign. Donations from the staff were in cash and through ordering merchandise. We have a link to our online fundraising page if any of our school community would like to donate
