Principal's Message
Dear Viking Families,
As we welcome a new week, we want to take a moment to express our excitement for what lies ahead in November. Please note there will be no school on November 11th in observance of the holiday, and the following week, November 18th -22nd, will be half days with dismissal at 12:15 PM.
Additionally, we will have a full week off from November 25th-29th for Fall Break. We encourage everyone to take this time to relax and reflect.
We look forward to seeing you all on November 7th for our Spirit Assembly. Thank you to everyone who attended our Family Friday on November 1st where we shared about our Math and Literacy Curriculum. Please view this presentation (linked here) that we shared during Family Friday.. Your support means so much.
Let’s make it a great week!
With Warm Regards,
Mrs. Ashton and Ms. Luong
Friendly Reminder / Updates
Federal Impact Survey: If you have not yet, please complete this short survey to increase funding opportunities for SDUSD students. The information is collected to support Federal Impact Aid funding and is kept confidential. Impact Aid funds are designated to assist school districts that enroll federally-connected students and become part of the district's general operating budget and support instructional activities for all students.
At your next opportunity, we ask you to please sign-in to the PowerSchool Parent Portal and complete the short survey, following the steps below:
Select Forms from the left-hand navigation menu, then select 2024-25 Impact Aid Program Survey Form under Annual Forms. See attached flyer for instructions as well. Impact Aid_2024-25_flyer.pdf
Follow the prompts and submit the form. Please be sure a confirmation appears before logging off.
If you need assistance, or do not yet have a Parent Portal account, please contact, Ms. Lovell at clovell@sandi.net or Mrs. Hayden at thayden@sandi.net. Visit the District’s support website for more information.
For parents using the PowerSchool mobile app, you can submit the survey using the app.
Reminder: Instruction starts at 7:45 a.m. Please ensure your children are on campus by 7:40 a.m. in order for them to have enough time to walk to their classroom and be ready to start their learning at 7:45 a.m. If students are arriving to school after 7:45 a.m. they will be marked tardy. Our Ericson teachers work hard, but also know how to have fun with their class as well!
Anyone missing a crayon color? We may have that color in our Office and Health Staff.
Counselor's Update
Hello Ericson Families,
It was a spoooooky week at Ericson, our fantastic students learned so much during their counseling lessons. Kindergarten students learned about different feelings and what they look like. 1st graders talked about accidents and what to do when you do something on accident. 2nd graders discussed how to predict feelings and why it is an important skill to master. 3rd graders learned how to manage stress and pressure. 4th graders talked about understanding different perspectives and 5th graders celebrated Halloween with a spooky kahoot trivia.
Have a great weekend!
Sincerely,
Mr. Z
