Johnson Newsletter
December 15, 2024
Good evening, JES parents and guardians!
What about all this snow! It is falling steadily and is just beautiful. I hope that you all are safe, warm and enjoying the view.
Unfortunately, the snow has forced us to shift our plans, and school will remain closed tomorrow. Therefore, Monday, January 6th, will be an eLearning day. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who made the effort to come to school to pick up iPads. It was wonderful to see you all, and we were pleased to distribute the iPads and make eLearning possible tomorrow. At this moment, no decisions have been made concerning the days following Monday.
Regarding eLearning, the Google Meet schedule is provided below. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to your child’s teacher. I am also here to assist you in any way (ccarter@scsd2.k12.in.us), and Mrs. Berry is available as well.
To be marked present, students must either attend their Google Meet session or complete at least 50% of their assigned work. Remember, completing assignments is essential for demonstrating understanding of learning concepts, and these can be factored into the grade book.
Lastly, I've asked the staff to share their thoughts on what should be “in” and what should be “out” for JES in 2025. Items that should be “in” are those that will enhance our relationships, learning, and environment, while those that are “out” are the obstacles hindering our progress. What would you add to these lists? If you have strong opinions, please reach out to me and share your thoughts. We’re in this together, and I believe 2025 will be fantastic!
Stay safe,
Carrie Carter
