Weekly Message from Mr. Costa
Dear Eagle Community,
Last week was an unforgettable one at VBCS as we celebrated Read Across America Week and Spirit Week with tons of enthusiasm! Students enjoyed special guest readers and fun literacy activities all week long. It was wonderful to see our school community come together to celebrate the joy of reading and the fun of expressing ourselves! Thank you Ms. Amerson and Pep Club for organizing this amazing week.
Our K-3 students also had a fantastic field trip to the Balboa Theatre, where they experienced the vibrant sounds of Puerto Rican music in a lively and interactive concert. The energy in the theater was contagious as students clapped along and learned about the rich culture behind the music. Thank you Ms. Gutierrez, K-3 teachers, and parent chaperones for helping to make this event such a wonderful success. To end the week on a high note, families joined us for Friday’s Lunch on the Lawn, where students and loved ones enjoyed a beautiful afternoon picnic together. It was the perfect way to wrap up a week full of learning, laughter, and school spirit!
On Saturday, we capped off the excitement with the grand opening and ribbon cutting of our brand-new Pala Community Garden! A huge shout-out to the VBCS staff members, students, families, and community members who came out to clear dirt, build raised beds, and work together to create this beautiful space for our school. Ms. Sanchez deserves a massive shout-out for helping us with a strong vision for garden success! Thanks to everyone's hard work and dedication, our students will have an amazing place to learn, grow, and connect with nature for years to come!
As always, if you have any questions, comments, ideas, or would like to say hello in person, please feel free to email me at daniel.costa@bonsallusd.com. I look forward to meeting and working with each of you to support the amazing students of Vivian Banks Charter School. Have a wonderful week!
