Here are some helpful resources to assist with your family’s transition to Pine Lane Elementary including Express Check In, our Contact Information, School Supplies, PikMyKid, and Transportation.


We know there are several steps and a lot of information, if you have questions or need help, please reach out to PLERegistrar@dcsdk12.org at any time.

PARENT PORTALS - Step One

  • You should receive an email directly from DCSD with the information to set up your two Parent Portal accounts. Both accounts will use the same password but have slightly different ways to enter your username
    • Engaged Parent Portal is where you locate Express Check In, your student's EPRs (Report Cards) and Transportation information
      • log in = yourusername@p.dcsdk12.org and password
    • Infinite Campus Parent Portal (IC) is where you locate your student's Teacher and Attendance
      • log in = yourusername and password

EXPRESS CHECK IN - Step Two

EXPRESS CHECK IN needs to be completed by each family, every school year

  • Review your family’s contact information, pay fees, request a bus pass, sign up for volunteer opportunities and sign paperwork

    • A TECHNOLOGY CONTRACT needs to be signed before each student can receive a device to use at school

    • CUSTODY GUIDELINES is a short form with questions about the Custody Guidelines for your student

ARRIVAL AND DISMISSAL PROCEDURES - Step Three

  • Click HERE for an explanation of our procedures

  • The PikMyKid app needs to be downloaded to your phone (and the phone of anyone you want to be able to pick up your student) for our pick up process at the end of the day

  • The App is required to go through the Carline for pick up. You also need the App to "Announce" in order to pick up Walkers

  • If you do not have the App, you need to park and bring your ID into the office to pick up

  • You can also use PikMyKid to report your student absent

SCHOOL HOURS

  • First Bell: 8:55am (when students may enter the buildings)

  • Classes Start: 9:10am

  • School Ends: 4:00pm

  • If you need to pick up your student early, please do so by 3:30pm to help avoid delays at the end of the day

  • Our school consists of two buildings, North Campus (4th-6th grades) and South Campus (Preschool-3rd grades). Please save the contact information below to your phone.

TRANSPORTATION

  • Transportation uses the SMART Tag Parent Portal where you can access route information, your student’s ride information and update who can pick up your child from the bus stop

  • Transportation is currently using a Rolling Cancellation Schedule

  • Route Information is subject to change until school starts. Any changes during the school year will be communicated in advance

  • Bus and Smart Tag options are under the Additional Options section of Express Check In.

  • Your student’s Smart Tag will be given to them by the bus driver. Student’s can ride the bus until their Smart Tag arrives.

  • The is a $1 each way/per day fee for the bus

  • If you qualify for Free/Reduced Lunch Program, there is no fee for the bus

SCHOOL MEALS

  • Breakfast and Lunch are provided for free at Pine Lane

  • If you want your student to be able to purchase ala carte items (snacks or extras), they must have funds in their MySchoolBucks lunch account

  • If you prefer your student not purchase Ala Carte items, complete the No Seconds Form (Spanish)

  • We suggest all families apply for the Free/Reduced Lunch Program. If qualified, this also waives school fees, bus fees and field trip fees

  • Refer to our Health Guidelines if your student needs to have any medications at school
