School Newsletter Term 1, Week 4
Friday 23rd February 2024
Kia ora West End whānau
We hope this newsletter finds you well and filled with the same sense of pride that we're feeling after our successful start to the 2024 academic year.
We want to extend a huge thanks to our dedicated Enviro Team for their outstanding efforts during the recent working bees. Your hard work and commitment to improving and maintaining our environment are truly commendable. The results of their efforts are visible throughout our community, and we are grateful for their tireless dedication.
Next, we want to celebrate the success of our first VIBE assembly of the year, expertly hosted by Te Wao Nui o Tāne. The energy and information at the assembly were showcasing the incredible talents and spirit of our children while exploring the many extra curricular activities available to our akonga. It was a fantastic start to what promises to be a year filled with exciting events and achievements.
We also want to shine a spotlight on one of our own, Whaea Karen, who recently participated in the Kapa Haka Regionals with Mātaatua. Her dedication is inspiring, and we were thrilled to support her during the live performance. The entire school came together to cheer her on, demonstrating our strong sense of community and support for each other's endeavours.
As we continue through the year, let's carry this spirit of support and celebration with us. Together, we can achieve great things and create a vibrant, thriving community for all.
Thank you to everyone who contributes to making our community the wonderful place that it is. Your efforts do not go unnoticed, and we are grateful for each and every one of you.
Nga mihi

Our West End Student Council for 2024
We had over 50 children give speeches in front of their classes to be voted into student council this year. This shows that we have so many students keen to give back to the school and be amazing leaders. Well done to everyone who showed fantastic whakamana by giving speeches! Congratulations also to our Student Council representatives for this year!
During our VIBE Assembly on Thursday we had 5 senior students who stood up in front of the school and gave a speech say why they would be a great Student Council President. All of these speeches were fantastic and we are so proud of each student for speaking in front of a big crowd. Well done!
