The Panther Pulse
Pershing Middle Community Newsletter: Vol. 2, Issue 11
Principal's Message
Dear Pershing Families,
Last week was an unusually eventful week at Pershing Middle School. Thank you as always to the community for your support, it is much appreciated. Looking forward to a quieter week this week and to contnue visiting classrooms to see the great learning activities happening.
Last week, our students attended grade level presentations by members of our local law enforcement around Internet safety. A lot of really important information was shared with the students and I wanted to make sure families were aware there is a new resource/tool available to help get unwanted pictures or videos circulating on the Internet taken down: https://report.cybertip.org/ Mr. Hawthorne will also be working with some of our parents to set up an encore Parent Presentation for families.
And finally, I was so happy to see that a large portion of our student body participated in our Pink Panther Day on Friday in support of Breast Cancer Awareness. Our mascot, Percival the Panther, was even on hand to show his support.
Sincerely,
Melanie Kray

A REMINDER ABOUT DROPPING OFF ITEMS FOR STUDENTS
In order to minimize disruptions to the learning environment we wanted to remind families that we do not call the classrooms to notify students when families drop off forgotten items for their students. Students may stop by the office during a passing perior or other break time to check to see if an item has been dropped off. Also, it is often helpful to develop an evening and morning routine where your student is making sure all required items for the school day are packed and ready to go.
