Dental Van Update: The consent form deadline has been pushed back to Monday, February 3, 2025. Please use the forms below or you can find them in the front office and return by February 3! Thank you!

April is Financial Literacy Month and we are planning an event for our families who are interested in learning more about the ins and outs of finances. If you are interested in participating in this event, please use the link to take the survey below and let us know when is the best time for you!

Re-enrollment for the 2025-2026 school year is now open! Parents of students in grades PK-4 should have received an email and/or text message from School Mint requesting that you login to School Mint and complete the re-enrollment. If you did not receive this notification, please contact Mrs. Gorman (lgorman@fcymca.org). Re-enrollment must be completed by March 31, 2025. If you have not completed it by then, your child's seat will be open to new applications. If you intend to stay at Tiger Academy next school year, you will be required to re-apply. If there is a waitlist, you will be placed on it.

Dear TIGER ACADEMY families,

We are kicking off a new Box Tops for Education leaderboard that is running 1/1/2025 through 1/31/2025.

The goal is to have your child's classroom be in first place on the This Month's Leaderboard.

Here's how it works:

1. Buy Box Tops products and scan your receipt with the Box Tops app within 14 days of purchase.

2. After scanning your receipt, make sure TIGER ACADEMY is your selected school in the app.

3. Tap on Give Credit to select your child's classroom. You can scroll down to add a note with your child's name or additional information on who should get credit.

4. The number of Box Tops earned with your receipt will be credited to the classroom you selected.

5. To see where your child's classroom stands on our leaderboard, open the Box Tops app, tap on the school card on the Home screen and check out This Month's Leaderboard on the school dashboard.

Want to give credit for a digital or email receipt? Go into the Box Tops app, tap on the My Earnings button at the top of the screen and tap on the transaction you'd like to credit. Scroll past the list of products and tap on Give Credit at the bottom of the screen. Then, select your child's classroom.

BECOME A VOLUNTEER TODAY!

The YMCA has changed the application platform for our volunteers. Please follow these steps:

1. Click this link: https://fcymca.org/give/volunteer/

2. Scroll to the bottom and click Search Volunteer Opportunities

3. Click the dropdown menu All Jobs Type and click on “Volunteer”

4. Find: Volunteer- Tiger Academy and click “Apply”

5. Create a New Account (or use an existing account if you have one)

6. Complete the application (When you get to the “Upload a Resume” part, please just upload something, a blank page, etc. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO HAVE A RESUME.)

Once the above is done, Ms. Didier and Ms. Wesley are supposed to receive a notification that your application has been input. They will create an account for you in SKILLSURVEY:

A. SKILLSURVEY will send you an email to input your references.

B. Input your references

C. References complete their portion

D. Ms. Didier or Ms. Wesley will send the reference report and application to the YMCA HR staff.

E. YMCA HR staff (Heidi or Leslie) will send you an email with the next items that need to be complete.

F. Once all of those items are complete HR will send you, Ms. Didier, and Ms. Wesley a notification that you are cleared to volunteer.

Do you know anyone who is interested in changing their child's school and would like to come to Tiger Academy? Please send them the information for tours on the attached flyer and have them email Ms. Didier to RSVP for a tour jdidier@fcymca.org.

One of our talented alumni scholars knitted several dozen hats and other winter accessories and donated them to Tiger for anyone who may need one. She made them in a variety of colors and styles with directions included on how to use/wash them. Please see the flyer for how to "order one".

REMINDER! Late Fees for Late Pick-Ups

We understand that sometimes things happen that we cannot predict. However, to help ensure proper supervision of every scholar and ensure that our staff can go home to their families on time, please read the policy for late fees:

Tiger Academy’s dismissal begins at 3:30p.m. and ends at 3:45p.m. A late fee of $10.00 will be assessed if a car rider or walker is still on campus at 3:50p.m. An additional fee of $10.00 will be assessed for every additional 15 minutes the child is still in attendance.

On Early Release Wednesdays, Tiger Academy’s dismissal begins at 1:30p.m. and ends at 1:45p.m. A late fee of $10.00 will be assessed if a car rider or walker is still on campus at 1:50p.m. An additional fee of $10.00 will be assessed for every additional 15 minutes the child is still in attendance.

The afterschool program ends at 6:00p.m. daily. A late fee of $10.00 will be assessed if your child is not picked up by 6:05p.m. An additional fee of $10.00 will be assessed for every additional 15 minutes the child is still in attendance.

Tiger Academy is here to help the whole family! It isn't always easy to admit that we may need assistance. However, if you have fallen on hard times, find yourself homeless, or need someone to talk to we are here for you. Please reach out to Ms. Martinez or Ms. Didier.

Since the tragic events of Parkland on February 14, 2018, Florida schools are required to make their schools safer than they were the year before. If at any time for any viable reason, you may report a threat to law enforcement and government officials through the Fortify Florida App or website using the link above.

If you have knowledge of or evidence of any threat being made to a Tiger Academy scholar or staff member, you can also contact the Safety Chair- Ms. Didier by email (jdidier@fcymca.org) or the new safety email address that will go to Ms. Didier and administration (Tigersafety@fcymca.org) with factual details of who, what, where, along with any screenshots as evidence to help in the investigation.

At YMCA Tiger Academy, a free public school, we believe school should be more than a place to learn reading, writing and arithmetic. We approach the education of each child with a commitment to helping him or her grow in spirit, mind and body.
