From Ms. Iskra’s Drama Class
Twas the night before Christmas, when all thro' the house,
Not a creature was stirring… Except for... a mouse!
11 and 12YOC drama students have been working hard rehearsing, and are so excited to get the school into the holiday spirit with our new production. Join us on Thursday, December 2nd at 3.20 pm in the Auditorium to see our version of the classic Victorian poem “Twas the Night Before Christmas” with an unexpected twist! Parents, we will have the performance live streamed on ZOOM so you could join us virtually. See you at https://us02web.zoom.us/j/4765845981?pwd=MHFGY3piUm5ncnJOMkRTRGZLVnFXZz09, passcode 131429.
COVID-19 Vaccinated Students and Staff Quarantine Policy
Vaccinated Staff and Students Quarantine Policy
The BIS Advisory Board decided that fully vaccinated students and teachers who are first-level contacts can return to campus after a week and a negative COVID test. This is in line with government regulations for vaccinated people. This does not apply to a positive case in the class.
If there's a COVID positive case in a class, then the whole class must quarantine for 14 days. This is required by the Ministry of Education. Please see the document below for more information.
If your child has been vaccinated, please send Sevda a copy of their vaccine card.
COVID Update
Currently, the 7yoc and 8yoc are on distance learning, as well as a few students from the 6yoc, 9yoc, and 10yoc. We have also had a number of students return this week from quarantine due to COVID cases within their households.
We ask you to continue your vigilance and health protocols at home. Our main goal at school is to ensure the health and safety of our students and to keep the school open.
Emergency Drills
Fire/Building Evacuation: The children are to walk slowly out to the playground and line up by homeroom/advisory class. Teachers take their emergency clipboard and green/red paper with them. This clipboard has daily attendance. Before leaving the room, they close the windows and doors and turn off the light.
Earthquake: Duck and Cover: All students and teachers go under a desk or table, not facing the window or not near a bookcase if possible. Everyone covers their heads with their arms. Afterward, they follow the evacuation procedure.
Lockdown: Teachers lock the door, close window blinds, students and teachers are to sit facing the wall that is farthest from the window. Wait for an all-clear announcement over the intercom.
Attention, Wordsmiths!
