Labor Day Holiday Monday, September 2

Monday September 2 is Labor Day Holiday! No school for students or staff!

Schedule Information

Students, we will operate on the Regular Monday, Tuesday, Thurs, Fri. Schedule this week, except for Wednesday. This Wednesday will operate on a Flex schedule to review some important Student Handbook information. Students will remain in an extended 1st block from 8:30-10:35 on Wednesday, September 4.

BOY Paperwork

NHCS Coffee, Curriculum, and Conversation Monday, September 16

On Monday, September 16, NHCS will host a Coffee, Curriculum, and Conversation session for parents. There will be pop-in sessions from 8am-1pm and 4-6pm at the Board of Education Building on 13th Street. Join the conversations at the time that fits your schedule. We will have coffee and light refreshments. Parents are welcome to bring their younger children to this event as well. Parents can get questions answered about academics, and have the opportunity to talk to child nutrition, CTE, PreK, Parent and Caregiver Academy, Special Education, and Technology about what is happening across our district.

Cell Phone Policy and Procedures

Mr. Telephone Man, there's somethin' wrong with my line. When I dial my baby's number I get a click every time because she is focused on her classwork at NHHS and you’ll get a click everytime! NHHS has implemented a policy that restricts the use of cell phones and other personal electronic devices (i.e. earbuds/headphones) during class time. Student electronic devices are not to be utilized during class unless specifically instructed by their teacher. Upon entry into the classroom students must complete one of the following actions based on the teacher’s classroom management plan.

Option 1: Students put their device away where it is not visible (ex: bag, purse, pocket)
Option 2: Students place the device in a specific location within the classroom as designated by the teacher (ex: wall organizer, designated box).

Students may use their devices during lunch and in the hallways as long as they are not causing a disruption. Failure to comply with this policy will result in escalating consequences including having the device held by an administrator until the end of the day, and having the devices picked up by a parent or guardian. Parents, please help us communicate this to students so that we can maintain a productive learning environment at NHHS.
