EDW BRAVE BULLETIN
AUGUST 23, 2024
PLEASE MAKE TRANSPORTATION CHANGES TO THE FRONT OFFICE BEFORE OR BY 2:30PM.
CAFETERIA
We want to inform you of a recent change at our school aimed at enhancing student supervision and safety. To better focus on monitoring and supporting our students, we have decided to discontinue the use of the microwave in the cafeteria.
We understand that this may be an adjustment, especially for those who rely on it for quick meal preparations. We encourage you to send meals that do not require heating.
Thank you for your understanding and support as we work to create a safer and more supervised environment for our students.
ARRIVAL PROCEDURES
We want to remind you of our arrival procedure to ensure a smooth and safe start to the school day for everyone.
Drop-off Time: Please drop off your child between 8:15am and 8:30am at the North entrance. This helps us manage the flow of traffic and ensures your child has enough time to get settled before classes begin.
Designated Car Rider Area: North Entrance- Use the designated drop-off zones only. Follow the signs and staff directions to keep traffic moving and maintain safety.
Stay in Vehicle: While in the drop-off line, please remain in your vehicle at all times. Our staff will assist your child out of the car and guide them to the school entrance.
Late Arrivals: If you arrive after 8:30am, please park at the West entrance (front) and walk your child into the school office to sign them in.
Update to Arrival Procedure: To enhance safety and efficiency during drop-off, we are no longer allowing parents to park and walk their child to the entrance.
Thank you for your cooperation in helping us provide a safe and orderly arrival process. If you have any questions or need further information, please feel free to contact us.
WALKER SAFETY
If your child is not a permanent walker and plans to walk home, the office must have prior notification before 2:30 PM. This helps us ensure all students are safely accounted for.
ROOMS & A NEW DISTRICT APP
This year, we’re adding a new feature called ROOMS to our district app. ROOMS enables you to have two-way parent-teacher conversations and keep up with classroom announcements. With this, we have launched a new app and website! The app is available for download in the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store. Please note, this app is NEW, and if you downloaded the district app prior to July 1st you’ll need to remove the old one and add the latest version.
OUR DISTRICT APP INCLUDES...
Live Feed Updates
District and School News
Upcoming Events
Breakfast and Lunch Menus
Push Notifications for Important and Urgent Announcements
WITH ROOMS, YOU'LL ALSO HAVE THE FOLLOWING FEATURES...
Two-way Messaging with Teachers, Staff, and Coaches
Classroom Announcements, Reminders about Coursework, and Materials
Behavior Tracking for Celebrating Good Behavior and Academic Achievement
Automatic Translation
Parents/guardians will receive an invite to set up an account, and you'll just follow the link on your browser to create a login. After you’ve created your login, you can access ROOMS through the USD 204 App. Once you’re there, you’ll see a toggle at the bottom right-hand corner of the screen. Just touch ROOMS to get started. If you have multiple children attending our district, you’ll see them both listed in the menu section of ROOMS.

NEWS FROM THE LIBRARY
Brave Families,
Get ready to turn the page to a new chapter! Next week, our students will dive into the wonderful world of book care during library time and will start checking out their very own books. To keep our books in tip-top shape, we’ll be covering some “novel” book care expectations:
- Use clean hands when reading.
- Keep books away from food and drinks-especially in backpacks.
- Turn pages gently.
- Store library books away from where babies and pets can reach them.
- Always return books on time.
Let’s work together to ensure that our library is the place where every book can live “happily ever after”!
Your librarian,
Mrs. Thoman
$10, $15 and $20 are all a one time payment for the rest of the school year
If you'd prefer to only pay on the Thursday that your child wears a hat and or pj's then you are welcome to pay the $1.00 per wear!
