Your Feedback Matters!
Dear SVDP Parent Community,
Thank you to those who took the time to complete the trimester 1 parent survey. We value your input and perspective on our school's programs. Your feedback is crucial in helping us understand the experiences of both you and your child, and it plays a pivotal role in shaping the future of our educational initiatives.
The survey covered various aspects of our academic programs, including Catholic identity, facilities, life and safety, curriculum/instruction, fundraising, scheduling, and overall satisfaction.
Respondents who requested additional follow up after the survey will be contacted by a member of the advisory board via email.
Blessings!

Trimester 1 - Parent Survey
Who Responded
Why SVDP?
Catholic Values and Discipline were ranked closely at number four and five respectively. While Catholic Faith Formation was ranked last by respondents.
Other reasons to attend SVDP?
Parent, student, and faculty / staff members are clearly an important component of school life for our families.
How could your school better communicate with you?
Communication:
Overall respondents indicated that communication at SVDP is strong and effective. Responses ranged from an appreciation of timely communications from the administration / teachers when parent / student submit inquiries to gratitude for the "handholding" the PG newsletter provides parents. There was a strong appreciation for and a desire for more CoffeeTALKS with the Principal.
Continued improvement in the following areas was suggested:
- Instruction on how to sync to the SchoolSpeak calendar / Google calendar
- Streamlined communication about up-coming events / activities
- Stronger communication from teachers regarding curriculum / standards - What are students learning? And how can parents best support student learning?
- Proactive approach to discipline issues that occur in the classroom
General Comments:
Gratitude was expressed for many components of school life at SVDP. A few of the highlights were the Extended Care program, the Extra-curricular after school offerings, and the new SuperKids English Language Arts Program in kindergarten through 2nd grade.
Other comments focused on communication regarding the discipline policy, more teacher professional development on differentiated teaching strategies in the classroom, and a shared desire for more writing instruction in the middle school (specifically vocabulary and grammar).
Expressed by our respondents was a continued desire to improve the Co-Curricular experience - Spanish, P.E., music, and art with a focus on developing the foreign language program and an emphasis on adding instruments to the music program.
There is an interest in more information on STAR scores. At this time, the school already shares what data is permissible by the diocese.
Other ideas ranged from older students tutoring younger students after school and how to best utilize parents as ambassadors for the school to support enrollment.
Finally, respondents requested an update on the construction project for the elevated sports court and the seismic retrofit of the re-roofing project.
Together we are...SVDP!
