Did you know...? Why Daily Attendance Matters:
Missed Lessons = Falling Behind: Even one day can mean missing critical instructions and activities, making it harder for your child to catch up.
Impact on Future Success: Consistent attendance is a strong predictor of academic achievement and future opportunities.
Building Resilience: Regular attendance teaches your child the value of perseverance and responsibility—essential skills for success in life.
Stronger Friendships: Daily presence helps your child develop and sustain friendships, which are crucial for emotional and social development.
Healthy Routine: Attending school every day establishes a stable routine, promoting better mental and physical health.

Away For The Day- Updated Cellphone Policy
Dear NBMS Families,
We're excited to announce our updated cell phone policy, "Away for the Day," starting this school year. This initiative, inspired by the Screenagers program, aims to create a more focused and engaged learning environment for our students.
What You Need to Know:
- Cell Phone Off and Away: Students must turn off their cell phones and store them in their backpacks before they come onto campus.
- No Cell Phones During School Hours: Once on campus, students are expected to keep their cell phones off and in their bags for the entire school day.
- Contacting Your Child: If you need to get a message to your child during the school day, please call the office at 831-464-5660 or email us at nbmsoffice@suesd.org, and we will relay the message.
Why "Away for the Day"? The "Away for the Day" initiative is designed to help students stay present, reduce distractions, and promote healthier interactions. By limiting cell phone use during school hours, we hope to enhance our students' academic performance, social skills, and overall well-being.
How Can You Help?
- Discuss the Policy: Please talk to your child about the importance of this policy and ensure they understand the expectations.
- Support at Home: Encourage your child to develop healthy cell phone habits and explain the benefits of being "away for the day."
We appreciate your support in making this initiative successful. Together, we can create a positive and focused learning environment for all our students.
Thank you for your cooperation!
