From the Principal
Dear Parents:
It has been refreshing to wake up to cooler temperatures this week and I know everyone is excited about the long weekend ahead. I hope you have something fun planned with family and friends over the extended holiday weekend. It is so exciting to have football back in action. When we return, on Wednesday and Thursday nights consecutively, we will have our grade level Curriculum Nights. We hope you will make every effort to attend. These nights are intended for you to learn more about the academic and social expectations set forth for your child this year. Additionally, you will be hearing about our annual fundraiser, Glo For It, via the sharing of a video when you arrive in homeroom. I want to remind you Curriculum Night is not a drop-in. We need you here on time so the teachers can get started sharing promptly and you have time to rotate to the other content teacher if necessary. We look forward to having you join us!
Calling all grandparents! Our annual Grandparents Day is always a fun tradition and boy do they pack our school. We cannot wait to welcome everyone on Friday beginning at 9:00 a.m. If there are any grandparents unable to attend, a special friend or visitor is always welcome.
Also after Labor Day, you can begin eating lunch in the café with your child should you wish to do so. We are working hard still to maintain strong routines and procedures. It’s coming along!
Finally, I have been asked by the Kensington Farms Neighborhood Association to share a bit of information with you. If you have a middle schooler, it is imperative you do not use their neighborhood as a way to refrain from using Northwestern’s carpool. It has caused congestion in their community and residents would like to move about their space with ease. All three principals in the area have been made aware of this concern, so I wanted to communicate it here. The congestion occurs daily from 3:45-4:30 so I realize it is not you guys, but please tell neighbors and friends. We want to be respectful of all of our surrounding communities and the impact this has on daily life.
Have a great weekend. See you on Tuesday!
