Principal's Office
Tiger Families,
We hope this message finds you well and that you are enjoying the autumn season. November is coming, and the Tigers are "Pushing Forward." First and foremost, we want to thank everyone who supported our Homecoming/Spirit week. Your presence and active participation mean the world to us, and we're thrilled to have you as part of our school community. At AI High School, the weather is not the only thing that is hot in October. Our clubs, activities, and athletic teams have been heating up. We pride ourselves on having an active calendar, and it is amazing how much we accomplished in just one month. However, the year is young, and we must keep our focus on the big picture. We have many more goals and objectives we want to reach this year. And we all must continue to work together and have collective accountability to get there.
Climate & Culture
Tiger Families,
It’s hard to believe that the end of this month also brings us to the close of the first marking period – time truly flies!
As the weather cools down, we’d like to remind everyone that hats, hoods, and ski masks are not permitted inside the building. Parents, please take a moment this weekend to speak with your students about following this policy while at school. We will continue to enforce this rule daily and begin giving students consequences if they do not comply.
I hope everyone is feeling healthy, happy, and motivated as we continue the school year on a strong note. Our climate and culture team is here to support every student daily.
School Policies
Tardy Policy
Being on time to class is crucial for several reasons:
Maximizing Learning Opportunities: Arriving on time ensures that you don't miss any important information or instructions from the teacher. It allows you to make the most of the learning experience by being present for the entire class session.
Respect for Teachers and Peers: Being punctual demonstrates respect for your teacher, classmates, and the learning environment. It shows that you value their time and efforts in preparing for the class.
Establishing Good Habits: Punctuality is a valuable life skill that extends beyond the classroom. By being on time to class, you cultivate a habit of reliability and responsibility that will serve you well in future endeavors.
Minimizing Disruptions: Late arrivals disrupt the flow of the class and can be distracting to both the teacher and other students. Being on time helps maintain a positive and focused learning atmosphere.
Building a Positive Reputation: Consistently arriving on time to class builds a positive reputation with your teachers and peers. It demonstrates your commitment to academic success and professionalism.
Avoiding Consequences: Many teachers have policies regarding tardiness, which may include penalties such as missed participation points or even disciplinary action. Being punctual helps you avoid these consequences and any negative impact on your academic performance.
Students are expected to be in class (inclusive of the first period of the day) and prepared to work when the tardy bell rings.
