Final Grades
Grades for the year just completed are not final. End-of-course assessments have not yet been included in their related class and other items are needed to be completed prior to final grades becoming available. For classes without an EOC, the student's classwork generally reflects what you would expect for the course grade. Last year, it was the first week of July before the district made final grades available. It may be sooner this year, but we are not able to make any promises. As always, if you are unable to access HAC, it may be an issue of student residency verification. You may get support by contacting our Computer Operator, Mrs. Lisa Greve, at lisa.greve@stjohns.k12.fl.us
Scheduling 2024 - 2025
There is still much to be done as we prepare for next school year. At this point, no student schedule is final. We are still needing to make changes based on district guidance as it relates to FAST data, especially for Intensive Reading and Math classes. Please know as well that it is not always possible for students to get schedule every course they desire. There are certain classes that only occur one period a day, which can create conflicts. Our recommendation is that students choose the core class that best fits their ability and willingness to challenge themselves rather than choose an elective that also may occur once a day. These conflicts are fairly rare, but do happen. Below you will find some information that will expand on the thoughts above. Note that if you do not have access to HAC, you likely an issue with verification of residency. If this is the case, please contact Mrs. Greve at lisa.greve@stjohns.k12.fl.us
Student Request Verifications
Student Requests have been live in HAC since March and are currently still live, so in order to save paper, we are not printing these this year. The course requests on HAC contains the four CORE course recommendations using grades, class performance, and testing data. Also included are requests for electives and early intensive reading placements. These recommendations are subject to change based on data. This is NOT a reflection of the final schedule. If support is needed for reading, the intensive reading course will take the place of an elective, and placement is based on prior historical testing data, as well as new FAST and Core Phonics reading data. Some of the new data has been released, but placement will continue as we disaggregate data throughout the summer.
Students and parents can request a placement review for a CORE course using the form at the link below.
To View Course Requests in HAC:
- Log into HAC and click on the “Classes” tab, and then click on “Schedule” tab.
- The course requests will be visible below your child’s current 23-24 schedule.
Course Review Process:
· Course reviews will take place after final grades and state testing scores are released in June. Decisions to change placement will follow the course progressions and will be communicated over the summer.
· Students and parents will be notified by July 1st if the course review was approved or denied.

Note:
- If your student’s requests include an Virtual Lab course, this indicates that your student has failed one or more semester of courses in his or her time in middle school. This course is to ensure promotion to high school through a virtual lab where your student will retake courses for grade recovery.
- Every student will have P.E. in his or her schedule unless a parent signs a waiver for the student to be excluded from P.E. Students have made selections for either semester PE or full year.
- PE waivers will need to be requested now so that we can schedule your student properly during the summer. We may not have room in other elective courses to alter schedules in the fall.
