Principal's Message

Welcome Beacon Families,


As we gear up for another inspiring school year, I want to extend my warmest welcome to each and every one of you.


Each year, our focus is firmly set on nurturing the earliest roots of learning and equipping our young learners with the foundational skills that will propel them towards success in the years to come.


We will be empowering our students to grasp the magic of literacy with joy and enthusiasm. Through storytelling, creative expression, and hands-on exploration, we will kindle the flames of curiosity and ignite a lifelong love with numbers, words and ideas.


Our staff is committed to engaging your children in meaningful experiences that go beyond the classroom. Together, we will cultivate a love for learning that extends far beyond textbooks, a love that will accompany them on their academic adventure and beyond.


In the spirit of fostering a vibrant community, I invite you to partner with us on this adventure. Your partnership, support, and engagement are invaluable in creating an environment where our young learners can thrive. Let's celebrate each small step, each new discovery, and each spark of imagination together.

Annual Student Information Update

An annual information update must be completed for all students currently enrolled in the Montesano School District. To update your student's information, log in to Skyward Family Access and click on “Annual Student Information Update” beginning August 12, 2024. Information must be updated by August 16, 2024. The link to Skyward Family Access is located on the Montesano School District website at www.monteschools.org.


You will be able to see your child’s class placement in Skyward under "Schedule" once the information update is complete.


If you do not have access to a computer, you may access one at Timberland Regional Library or at the Beacon office by appointment. Skyward access is also available via smart phone, but online forms may not display properly via the Skyward app. We recommend accessing Skyward through a web browser if you choose to do the update on a smart phone or mobile device. If you need Skyward assistance, please email beaconskyward@monteschools.org or call the Beacon Elementary office at (360) 249-4528.

TK & Kindergarten Family Connection Meetings

Welcome to Transition to Kindergarten(TK) and Kindergarten at Beacon Elementary School! The school year begins with parents and students meeting with our TK/Kindergarten teachers. This family connection meeting provides an opportunity to individually discuss each child’s strengths and needs so that families and teachers can work together to help our students be successful in school.


Family connection meetings will be held August 28 - 30. TK and Kindergarten students will not attend regular class on these days. The first regular day of school for TK and Kindergarten students is Tuesday, September 3.


Families will receive a separate email with details about scheduling a family connection meeting for their child soon.

Arrival and Dismissal

SCHOOL SCHEDULE

  • Regular Schedule: 8:20 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. - Monday - Friday

  • Early Dismissal: 12:00 p.m. - select calendar days only


Gates will open at 8:05 a.m. We ask families that are dropping off and picking up their children to use the curbside area pictured on the map below.


Car tags are required for student pick-up. Your child's car tag will be available for pick up at open house (Monday, August 26 from 5:00-6:00 PM).

Note: Beacon is a closed campus. Only staff and students may enter beyond the gates.

School Bus Transportation Requests

If you would like to request school bus transportation for your child for the 2024-25 school year, please submit a transportation request while completing your child's Annual Student Information Update by August 16, 2024.


  • Transportation will be scheduled to/from the student's home address or daycare location.
  • Routes will filled by priority working from outer district boundaries inward.
  • Waiting lists may be created if a route reaches maximum capacity with assigned students.
  • Shuttle service between the Montesano schools is available this year. You must submit a transportation request to be considered for shuttle service.
