January Newsletter
A Note from Mr. Larsen
Happy New Year! We had a great day welcoming our students back yesterday. I missed the students and their energy over break. Yesterday was a bit sluggish, but the students' energy certainly met expectations today. Please review this month's KMMS Newsletter.
Recess Reminder
I want to quickly remind parents and guardians that our students will be outside for recess daily. When the temperature or wind chill falls below 0 degrees, we will have inside recess for our students. If your students forgets a coat, hat or gloves, please have them connect with their teachers. Please know we promote an active and healthy lifestyle whenever possible, and will go outside often.
The Four Be's
As with any lengthy break, our staff and students spend the first few days modeling and reiterating the Four Be's: Be Safe, Be Respectful, Be Responsible, and Be Engaged. We have had a terrific start to January, and will continue to stress the importance of our expectations. As I share with students, the success you have in middle school is in direct correlation to your work with the Four Be's. I am excited for a fantastic 2025!
Cell Phones
Our students have done an excellent job keeping their cell phones in their lockers. I want to share sincere gratitude for your support and assistance with this. We have been doing this for a few years, but I believe it adds value to the relationships our students make with our staff and one another. Thank you for helping and supporting us in promoting positive relationships at KMMS.
A Note from the Media Center
If any families or students have any old or unused board games or card games, we would love to use them at KMMS. As I stated above, we encourage students to talk to one another verbally instead of through social media. Board and card games are a great way to incorporate play and communication. If you have any, please feel free to stop by the middle school office.
-----
Thank you for your continued partnership with Kasson-Mantorville Middle School. We are excited about and looking forward to January 2025 and the ample opportunities our students have to showcase their learning, growth, and achievement. Go KoMets!
