What's going on in the Art Department at BHS?

Digital Photography students' work in the Main Lobby!

Close to 100 Digital Photography 1 students created stunning portraits in Mr. Skirvan's Andy Warhol inspired Pop Art Photography Project! Students took black and white photographs of their classmates and friends, removed the backgrounds digitally and then painted a vibrant pop art background to accompany the photographs!

Art Beyond the Classroom! Sandy Neck!

Mr. Kemp's AP Studio Art students traveled out to Sandy Neck to find artistic inspiration in our beautiful natural environment! Many of the students had never been to Sandy Neck before and all found meaning in our time exploring this dynamic Barnstable treasure! A HUGE shout out to our Sandy Neck guru guides, Anne Marie Luppino and Ryan Henry! THANK YOU!

BHS Art Student Community Spotlight! Nick Ramos!

Check out Nick's awesome Art Student Spotlight exhibited at near Dick's Sporting Goods in The Cape Cod Mall! Huge Shout out to Alena Reardon, Director of Marketing and Business Development at the Mall, who is a fabulous community partner! Fine Arts 1 Tunnel Books!

Ms. Mueller's Fine Arts 1 class explored creating imaginative spaces using Tunnel Books!

Graphic Design Line Expression Projects!

Ms. Amara's upper level Graphic Design Students just printed their eye catching Line Expression Projects! Also check out the fun "Spot the Difference" work coming out of Graphic Design!

Shout Out to the multi-talented Taylor Foley, whose artwork was chosen for the cover of The Massachusetts Music Educators' Journal!

Bean Kearns! BHS Alumn

Shout out to S. Bean Kearns (2022)! Bean is currently studying Fine Arts at CCCC -- They have been teaching figure drawing at the Cordial Eye and mentoring students through Mass Hire. Bean works primarily in oil with themes of nature, self-reflection, and the human form.

Mara Araujo! BHS Community Member!

Shout Out to Mara Araujo, BHS Community Member on her eye popping mural at the Cape Cod Mall! Located by the entrance near Ten Pin, Mara 's mural is bright, welcoming, and a picture perfect selfie spot! Check out all her super cool projects on her Website!
