Registration for the 2025-2026 school year is now open! All current families should have received an email notification with instructions for re-registration. Friday, January 17, 2025, is the last day of classes for semester one. January 17 - 27 will be the exam break other than part A of ELA and Social Studies 30 diplomas being on January 14 and 15. Please see the attached schedule of exams and reviews.

Please note the following reminders:

1. Students will not be allowed to have their phone or Apple watch on

their person during their exam. All bags must be stored in their locker or at the front of the exam room.

2. Students must return their semester one textbooks to the library on the day of their exam.

3. Textbooks for semester two can be picked up in the library after they are done writing their last exam. This applies to grades 10-12 students only.

We are excited to announce the availability of Dual Credit courses for the upcoming semester!

Dual Credit allows high school students to earn both high school and post-secondary credits simultaneously. This unique opportunity provides students with a head start on their college education while still in high school. This opportunity would be for grade 11 and 12 students primarily; however, strong grade 10 students could be considered.

For this academic year, we are offering:

• Sociology 1000

• Psychology 1040

These courses are offered by NorQuest College and are transferable to both Grant MacEwan University, Concordia University and the University of Alberta.

Dual Credit offers numerous benefits, including:

• Reduced college tuition costs: Earn college credits while only paying the textbook fee.

• Early exposure to post-secondary education: Gain valuable college experience and prepare for the transition to university.

• Enhanced academic rigor: Challenge yourself with college-level coursework.

• Improved college readiness: Develop essential skills for success in higher education.

As parents, it can be tough to watch our teens face failure—whether it’s a bad grade, losing a game, or a tough conversation with a friend. But failure isn’t the end of the world. In fact, it’s an opportunity to build resilience and grit, which are key to long-term success. Grit is the ability to persevere through challenges, and resilience is the strength to bounce back when things get tough.

Why Failure Matters

Failure is a natural part of learning and growth. It teaches teens how to problem-solve, cope with disappointment, and keep moving forward. When teens understand that setbacks don’t define them, they’re more likely to persist and try again.

How Parents Can Help

5. Provide Support, Not Solutions

By encouraging resilience and grit, you’re helping your teen develop the emotional tools they need to face challenges now and in the future. St. Luke starts his gospel out in a very compelling manner. He states right up front that he wants to be accurate. He wants to get it right. He wants the truth. He is taking great pains to ensure that the account of Jesus' life and the story of his resurrection is all in order and verifiable. It's one small detail that should give us confidence that the Bible can be trusted.

At MCHS, we strive to live our faith to the fullest. With the Catholic Social Teachings in mind, we organize charitable projects to help God's children who find themselves in the margains. The following is a list of the Catholic Social Teachings:
