The Drama Competition Team competed with other middle schools and junior highs in our district this past weekend. They did a wonderful job with raving reviews from the audience. The Ensemble team took 2nd amongst the middle schools, and our own Ian White tied for 1st in the humorous monologues! Look on our website for more pictures!

Our Mariachi students had an opportunity to go to a professional mariachi concert at UVU on Oct 12. They had a great time and were fantastic audience members to the group Mariachi Divas. Our students now have new heroes to look up to! Viva Mariachi!!!!

had an opportunity to present at the Nebo School District Board meeting on Oct. 9th. Each one talked about a particular class or program at our school. Mr. McGregor also made a video to help Board members really see our school! It was a total success with Mrs. Taylor wrapping it up!

Dear Parents'

The last week in October is set aside for red ribbon week. Red Ribbon week is an alcohol, tobacco, vaping and other drug and violence prevention week. The PTSA would like to sponsor Red Ribbon Week at Mount Nebo Middle school. To do so we need 2-5 parents who are willing to run it. This would include meeting as a committee, planning simple activities and carrying them out. You can include your students in helping as much as you would like providing them an awesome service/leadership opportunity as well. We do have a small fund set aside to support this but if any parents want to donate to the PTSA they can do so through the office. Donations go directly to the students and teachers here at Mount Nebo and would go directly to red ribbon week if we have enough parent volunteers to carry it out. There is time still to sign up for Battle of the Books. Create your own team of up to 6 people or join a team. There are 24 books to read as a team. Our Trivia competition will be Feb 6th. Please sign up by October 15th! Books count towards 40 book challenge and Road to Success for 6th graders. Lots of great prizes. We have a very large pile of Lost but not FOUND items in the Panther Den! If you are missing coats, jackets, water bottles or anything else please look in the Panther Den! After Fall Break all items will be donated!

More than likely when we return from Fall Break on Oct. 22nd. The weather will be a little cooler. Wearing a jacket or hoodie is great. We want to remind you not to bring blankets. These cause a lot of problems in the hallways that are crowded and usually become a nuisance item in class.

Audition Information for this year's school musical "High School Musical Jr" is available in the drama room. Make sure you grab an audition packet with all the important dates including information on: Parent Meetings, Audition Workshops, Dance and Vocal Auditions, Rehearsals, and Performance Dates. You will also find many great audition tips and tricks, and sheet music for your vocal auditions. All Mt. Nebo Middle students are invited to audition. We also have some limited positions on the Tech Crew - sign ups available in the drama room until filled. Email Mrs. Schofield with any questions at nicole.schofield@nebo.edu.

We have an opening in our Mt. Nebo kitchen, this can be a fun way to serve your students and see how the school runs from behind the serving area! It can be a great job for a parent to work when their kids are at school.
