January 2019

Director's Note:

Parents, Guardians, and Students:

Happy New Year! I hope you all have had a wonderful break filled with friends and family (and maybe some practicing here and there?) and are ready to come back refreshed and renewed! We've got a little over a month until our first competition of the winter season, and as we prep for that first performance, each rehearsal is crucial.

For those of you in the guard class, you will now receive a grade for class participation and weekly rehearsals. We will also be discussing our solo and ensemble event and what you need to do to prep for that performance.

Spin-A-Thon forms are now available on google classroom and hard copies will be available on the first day of classes. This fundraiser is for anyone still working on getting fees turned in. At this point, students should have two payments turned in for each group. An update will be provided to students on the first day of school.

Thank you all again for a great fall season, and a fantastic start to Winter 2019!

January Dates

Monday, January 7th - First Day of School - A Day

Monday, January 7th - Regent Rehearsal - 4:30 - 7:00 p.m. - Band Room

We will get right back to it with Regent on the first day back. Our hope is to stage through the next two emotions and get the first two thirds of the show set on the floor so we can begin choreography.

Additional Regent Rehearsals in January are: 1/9, 1/14, 1/16, 1/23, 1/28, 1/30

Tuesday, January 8th - Imperial and Eminence Rehearsals - 4:30 - 9:00 - Band Room

Imperial and Eminence will have their first regular Tuesday night rehearsal on the 8th. Imperial will meet from 4:30 - 7:00 and Eminence will meet from 6:30 - 9:00.

We will continue to work on staging and filling in what we have on the floor now.

Additional Imperial Rehearsals in January are: 1/10, 1/15, 1/17, 1/22, 1/24, 1/29, 1/31

Additional Eminence Rehearsals in January are: 1/11, 1/15, 1/18, 1/22, 1/25, 1/29, 2/1

Wednesday, January 9th - Home Show Meeting - 6:30 p.m.

We will meet to discuss final needs for the Home Show on Wednesday the 9th at 6:30 p.m. This will be our last meeting before we start assigning duties and scheduling the mandatory volunteer meetings. As a reminder, each student must have one volunteer work the home show on the 23rd of February.

Friday, January 11th, Saturday, January 12th - Design Camps for Imperial and Eminence

Imperial and Eminence will have joint design camps on the 11th from 4:30 - 9:00 and on the 12th from 9:00 - 4:00. We will break for dinner at 6:00 on the 11th, and break for lunch at 12:00 on the 12th. It is imperative that we have each member present for these dates. If you are attending All-Region Auditions that weekend, please secure a sub for your spot.

Monday, January 21st - No School - Imperial and Eminence Design Camps

Eminence will meet from 9:00 - 4:00 with a lunch break at 12. Imperial will meet from 4:30 - 9:00 with a dinner break at 6:00. Our hope is to have the shows fully staged by this date, as such it is imperative that we have all members present at this and all rehearsals.
