Students, Parents, & Caregivers,

I hope everyone had a wonderful February Break! We have made it to March which historically can be one of the toughest stretches of school. It is important to check in with your student to see how school is going and to encourage them to meet with teachers if they need any support. We are WMS are always here to help!

Speaking of help, please remember that I will be in the gymnasium every morning at 7:00 AM if anyone wants to stop by for extra help.

As a reminder for Math class, Weekly HW assignments are posted on Mondays. Weekly assignments are generally due on Friday. They will be graded for effort and not accuracy. As long as your student puts effort into the HW they will get credit for their work. No one should spend more than 20 to 30 minutes a night working on Math HW.

My name is Brian Donato. I have lived my entire life in Watertown. I attended the Hosmer for Kindergarten and the Cunniff for grades 1-5 before spending grades 6-8 at the Watertown Middle School. I graduated in 1998 from Boston College High School, in 2002 from Boston College with degrees in Elementary Education and English, and in 2003 from Boston College with a Masters in Moderate Special Needs (5-12). This is my 23rd year working at the Watertown Middle School; 22 years as a special education teacher and 1 year as an Instructional Assistant.

My wife Jess is a 3rd-grade teacher at the Hosmer. Our oldest, Brennan, is in 7th grade at WMS, and our youngest, Griffin, is in 3rd grade at the Hosmer. Our immediate family includes Bubbles and Bruno, our twin cats. I am one of five siblings (two sets of twins) and have a twin brother. Some things to know about me: I am a member of the International Society of Huggers, my favorite color is purple, I prefer the Harry Potter books to the movies, I make a mean French toast, when I retire I want to get a job at a zoo, and I have worked for the Watertown Recreation Department for 32 years at Camp Pequossette.
