Principal Message
Good evening Mustangs Families!
On Friday, November 21st the students watched the following message from me on our Mustang Morning News (MMN) during homeroom.
Our school is a place where everyone should feel safe, respected, and valued. Hate speech and bullying will not be tolerated in any form that goes against these principles. Words have power—they can build people up or tear people down. Hate speech causes harm, creates division, and makes others feel unwelcome.
We are committed to fostering a community where kindness and understanding thrive. Let’s work together to choose respect, celebrate differences, and make our school a positive environment for all. Should behavior or acts continue it will result in disciplinary action up to suspension.
Remember, this is our Mustang Community; let’s care for ourselves and one another.
Please continue to share with your students this important message of respecting one another in our Mustang Community. This week our students are receiving our PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) lesson in their homeroom classes.
Winter break is just around the corner and often a time for relaxation with family and friends. As a reminder during the next few weeks positive attendance is important for your student. Having them here on time and ready to learn is something we can work together on! Thank you, Vanessa

CharacterStrong Homeroom Updates
6th Grade: Student sessions will be focused on exploring values, by reflecting on how they want to feel in different situations and discussing how this relates to and can help them understand their personal values. They will spend time thinking about what we value and how that helps them to think about who they want to be.
7th Grade: Focusing on defining the value of respect. They will be introduced to the concept of respect, create a shared understanding of its meaning, learn that it is an action, and explore the different ways we experience respect. Respect is a foundational aspect of creating anti-bullying environments.
8th Grade: Sessions explore values and habits. Students will focus on how their values, goals, and habits are all connected.

Dental Screening
Early Smiles Sacramento will be Will Rogers on December 5, 2024 to offer a free dental screening. The purpose of the dental screening is to check for tooth decay which can cause pain, serious infections and interfere with students’ ability to learn. The dental check is free, and students will receive free dental supplies.
You are encouraged to fill out and return the Early Smiles Sacramento consent form that was sent home. If you check the box for fluoride treatment, your student will have a fluoride varnish painted on the teeth with a small brush. Fluoride is given to help prevent and slow down tooth decay. Written results of the dental screening will be sent home. Please return the dental consents on or before the day of dental screening.
