The City of Charlotte's Youth Programs provides 16-24-year old residents with the opportunity to participate in career readiness training free of charge. This virtual experience covers job readiness, interview preparation and essential skills.

This training is the first required step an interested student must take in order to pursue Mayor's Youth Employment Program (MYEP) eligibility. You must register to participate!

MYEP Application Process

Thank you for your interest in apply to the Mayor's Youth Employment Program! Registration for Job & Career Readiness (JCRT) has begun. To register and learn more click here.

This training is a pre-requisite to participate in the Mayor's Youth Employment Program. If you received a completion certificate last year from (JCRT) you do not need to complete this course again.

MYEP students are high school students (or will graduate in the Spring of 2023). The minimum age of a MYEP participant is 16 years old: students must be 16 on or before April 15th, 2023.

Prospective MYEP participants must complete the following steps prior to being considered for placement:

Complete Job & Career Readiness Training
Submit a MYEP application, including a resume, written component, career interests and skills
Complete a virtual MYEP interview
Successfully complete a background check and drug screening

MYEP Training Session Agenda

1. Scholars who register by 9/30 will receive notification from Dr. Glover and MYEP via email.

2. Teachers will receive a list of approved participants by 10/25/22.

3. Scholars who participate will attend the JRCT session in the career center in room #3051.

4. Scholars will participate in a lunch break at Noon (TBA)

5. Scholars will return to fourth block at 1:30pm with an excused pass.
