TROJAN TALK
The Weekly Newsletter of Meridian Middle School
FRIDAY MAY 12, 2023
---------- UPDATE FROM THE PRINCIPALS ----------
Many of your homes will be filled with amazing stories of the adventures our 6th graders experienced at Outdoor Education this week. Outdoor Ed has been a Meridian tradition for generations and is always a fun year-end activity for our students. We appreciate the work of our teachers in putting this together and spending time away from their families to make this happen. We also want to acknowledge our high school counselors who are a huge part of this experience as well.
Next week, our 7th graders get the opportunity to participate in "Outdoor School" with daily visits to Bellingham parks organized by their teachers and also featuring high schoolers leading the learning. This opportunity began last year with our current 8th graders, and is working toward becoming another Meridian tradition.
As always, let us know if there are any questions or concerns!
GO TROJANS!

8th Grade Promotion Ceremony & Celebration
A committee of parent volunteers is also planning an evening event for all 8th graders as well. This is not a school-run event, but we will be promoting it in hopes that all 8th graders will attend and celebrate. For more information on this or to volunteer, please reach out to parent lead Leah Sipress.

TDaP Requirement for 7th Grade
For current 6th grade families - students will need to have their T-dap booster or doctor signed certificate of exemption before the start of the next school year and proof must be submitted. Kids who do not have either the immunization or the exemption will be excluded from school due to a state law.
