Progress Reports: What to Expect
This week, you’ll have the opportunity to meet with your child’s teacher to discuss their progress so far this year. At this conference you will also get your child's progress report.
The first trimester of early childhood focuses on social-emotional development. Therefore, your child's progress report will primarily reflect their growth in these areas. While your child’s teacher may mention academic skills they’re excelling in, these won’t be formally assessed on the progress report at this time.
We’re working on updating the language on our progress reports. You’ll notice a variety of social-emotional skills listed, along with a scale that includes “Still Developing,” “Nearing Mastery,” and “Meets Expectations.”
It’s important to remember that these skills are based on end-of-year expectations. So, it’s perfectly normal for your child to be in the “Still Developing” or “Nearing Mastery” stages at this point. This simply means they’re actively learning and growing with the support of their teacher.
Your child’s teacher will guide you through the report and answer any questions you may have.
We look forward to sharing your child’s progress with you!
Staff Shoutout Form
ECE is fortunate to have an incredible staff. To express our gratitude, we're creating a space for you to give personal shoutouts to the staff in the building that you want to recognize.
How it works:
- Fill out the provided form.
- We'll add your message to our weekly staff Smore and post it outside of their classroom.
Let's celebrate and uplift our staff!
