St. Thomas School
Mid-Week Memo: September 10, 2024
Our Mission:
St. Thomas School serves the parishes of St. Therese of Lisieux, Holy Spirit, and St. Matthew.
In partnership with the family, we are dedicated to nurturing the personal development of the whole child. Our mission is to instill Catholic values, foster self-discipline, and promote academic excellence in the spirit of a caring, affirming community.
From the Principal's Desk...
Greetings, St. Thomas families!
Last week we celebrated our first school mass of the year. It was, as always, a beautiful experience. Each time we attend we talk about a “glow” that went really well at mass (such as genuflecting, bowing in prayer, or reverence) and a “grow” (such as strong/still bodies, singing volume, and actively listening to Fr. Bill). Students are so receptive to this feedback and therefore are able to engage more deeply in mass. When you attend this weekend with your child(ren), ask what they are working on at mass, then perhaps you can decide on a “glow” and “grow” as a family.
Please note important information below:
FACTS At this time, FACTS Cafeteria is fully functioning. Once you log in to your Family Portal (see directions below), click on “Financial”. Here you will see your lunch and tuition balance and can make payments. If you click on them, you will get more detailed information. Please note that the cafeteria charges will all have the date of 9/10/2024 because they were “posted to the account” on this date, rather than charged in the cafeteria on that date. Moving forward we will be posting charges daily so you will see accurate dates. Please check for accuracy and let me know if there seems to be a discrepancy. Again, and I can’t say it enough, thank you for your patience during this tremendous transition to a system that is efficient, intuitive, and cost effective.
BAND OPPORTUNITY On Thursdays, Mrs. Moore, our music teacher, will be offering band lessons. There will be an informational meeting here at the school this Thursday, September 12th at 5:00pm in the music room. If you cannot make the meeting, please feel free to email her at monica.moore@portlanddiocese.org. Flyers for this opportunity are posted below.
Have a terrific remainder of the week and weekend ahead!
In His joy,
Mrs. Angela Madigan
Principal

We will be using Application and Enrollment starting in 2025 so re enrollment and registration will be all online.
