Meadow's Edge 4th grade teacher Josie Engdahl was selected for the 2023 Indiana Educator Fellowship for Creative Teachers (FCT), a prestigious program sponsored by the Indiana Arts Commission (IAC) and the Indiana Department of Education (IDOE). Miss Engdahl is one of just 20 educators from across the state chosen to participate in this innovative program. Along with teacher professional development, Miss Engdahl received funding to develop a creative arts residency in her classroom with the help of a guest teaching artist from the community, which she partnered with the South Bend Art Museum.

Winter Weather is Here!

It's hard to believe that we're in November already! With that comes cold and snowy weather. As we start our journey into winter, we'd like to remind you that ALL students go outside for recess, so please make sure students are prepared for the cold weather. The temperature must fall below 20 degrees (actual or windchill) before we determine there is indoor recess. This is on p. 23-24 of the PHM student handbook.


Winter gear should include coats, hats, gloves, scarves, and snow gear (boots and snowpants) if necessary. We cannot keep students inside unless we have a doctor's note with specifications on how many days they should remain inside.


Please make sure you label all outdoor wear so that students can identify their items easily should they end up in the lost and found.

Spiritwear Store LInk
We will open the spiritwear store back up for the month of November. We have added hats and scarves! There is a box on the order form to mark "gift" in case your order is meant to be a surprise!

Annual P-H-M Education Foundation's Thank-a-Teacher

It's that time of year again for the Annual P-H-M Education Foundation's Thank-a-Teacher. This is a wonderful way to say a special thank you to your child's teacher, or any P-H-M staff member that has made a difference in their lives. Your donation will go into our Grant Fund, which is returned to the schools in the form of Teacher Grants that include programs and projects that cannot be funded through school budgets. The nominee will receive a note with your special message, a pin for their lanyard, and the first 125 will receive a free Gold Car Wash courtesy of Drive & Shine. Penn Volleyball Rec League

Register today for the Independent Feeder Program! Penn Volleyball for grades 3rd-8th will host rec league volleyball teams through NIVA, the local volleyball club.


Tryouts are Sunday, Nov. 19. Games will be held on Sundays at local schools and each team will practice once a week. Click here for more information. If you have any questions, please contact Coach Kaitlyn Hickey at khickey@phm.k12.in.us.
