A note from the Principal...
Although the end of summer, and the hustle and bustle of the school year looming, presents our students and families with a wide array of emotions, I'm hopeful that this note finds you all well-rested, in good health, and in high spirits for the upcoming year.
On behalf of the Disney staff, we're thrilled to extend a warm welcome to all of our students and families, both new and returning! We're excited to begin this journey together and are honored to partner with you throughout the year to establish a learning community where our students flourish. Our dedicated staff has worked diligently over the summer to plan lessons, prepare classrooms, and ensure we are ready for the start of the new school year. The building looks wonderful and welcoming and we are eager for all of our students to become a Disney STAR this year!!
Please know the staff and I are here and look forward to partnering with you this year to ensure your child’s success! It is an honor and privilege to serve as your principal and I eagerly look forward to meeting each of you this year. Should you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to us at any time!
See you Monday!
Mrs. Porter
Important Traffic Flow Updates During Construction
As you may know, Kelly Road is under construction. We are very excited to have a new paved road, as this was a much needed project. Due to inclement weather, the construction timeline has been extended and will impact our first couple weeks of school.
We are working closely with the Clinton Township Police and Macomb County Road Commission to create a proactive plan.
During the construction, you will be unable to park in the Disney parking lot. If you would like to walk your child to the school, please park on a neighborhood street. While we know how excited our Disney families are to return to school, we are asking parents to delay taking pictures at the school until a later date. Once construction is completed, we will have a back to school celebration.
Please carefully read the adjusted procedures below for drop off and pick up.
- Currently Kelly is only open to northbound traffic.
- Please enter the south bus loop, which has traditionally been the exit.
- Once you drop off your student(s), exit the traditional entrance, and make a left to continue north on Kelly. Turning left onto Penrod, the first street north of the school, will take you out to Garfield or Moravian.
Our staff, as well as police will be present to help direct traffic and ensure all students arrive and depart safely.
We appreciate your understanding and patience. It is important we work together to ensure our students’ safety.
First Day of School: August 26th - 11:30AM Start Time
Celebrate the first day of school with your student! We have printable first day signs for every grade. Click on this LINK to access them.
Be sure to use #FraserFamily when you post on social media so we can share the smiles!
Find your child's bus stop online
Bus routes for this year are posted on our website. Please make sure to check this as we have consolidated some routes for this year due to ongoing driver shortages and your stop may have changed from last year.
Also, with several construction projects in the area, our buses may be slightly off our scheduled times. Please continue to have your students at the bus stop 10 minutes before their scheduled time.
Please review with your child the bus rules found on the Transportation Department’s website.

Red Flag Outside Indicates Indoor Lineup
When the red flag is hung outside our front doors, this means indoor line-up. Students only can enter the building thru the main door (door #1) as well as the back door (door #18) starting at 8:20 AM.
Please utilize the car drop-off line and students will enter in the back of the building (door #18). If your child needs assistance, please park in a parking spot and walk your child to the main entrance (door #1). Student drop off is NOT allowed in the bus loop during indoor lineup.
Daily Attendance
Calling in your child sick, an appointment or vacation? Please call the attendance line at any time of day at 586-439-6490. Utilizing the attendance line will assist our office staff with making sure attendance records are accurate.
Classroom Supply List
Grades 2 - 6 Meet The Teacher Night
Technology Agreement
Students will be receiving their iPad soon after the beginning of the school year.
Technology Agreements need to be on file for all students before they receive their iPad and chargers. The current technology agreement on file will determine if students bring their iPads home or keeps it at school. Technology Agreements can be updated at any time if you would like to change your student’s opt-in/opt-out status.
If you are new to Disney, or if you would like to change your students opt-out status, please fill out the Technology Agreement linked below. As a reminder, students will NOT receive an iPad without a completed technology agreement on file.
Students who have Technology Agreements that are Opt-Out will keep their iPad at school. No charger will be assigned as it will be charged at night at school. If your student is an Opt-In and you do not need a charger at home, please e-mail Mrs. Cichocki and a charger will not be assigned to your student.
Please mail Mrs. Cichocki at Dorothy.cichocki@fraserk12.org if you have any additional questions regarding student iPads.
Does your child have medical needs?
If your child has specific medical needs, please reach out to the main office prior to the start of school. In order to administer medication, consent forms must be completed. Consent forms for prescription medications must include dosage and frequency information signed by a physician. Medication, including inhalers, must be stored in the main office and not in backpacks or pockets. In addition, if your child has a medical plan, it will need to be updated for the 22-23 school year.
Please find medication forms linked below for your convenience.
6th Grade Advanced ELA and Math
6th-grade students who qualify for advanced ELA & Math placement classes at Richards Middle School (RMS) will be notified prior to September 9th. We are currently awaiting State testing results to determine eligible candidates. RMS will reach out to families once identification has been completed.
Thank you PTO for New Gaga Ball
Thank you to our PTO for purchasing a new gaga ball pit and turf for our students to enjoy. We love it and it will get great use at recess! A huge thank you to the Professional Group and the Ross family for volunteering their time to assemble the new gaga ball pit!
Class Shirts
Each year, our PTO provides one class shirt for all students free of charge. To help ensure we place an accurate order, please take a moment to fill out the below link with your students name, teacher, and t-shirt size. This form should be completed for each student in your family. You may also order additional shirts if you choose.
Second Step Social & Emotional Learning Curriculum K-8
Now more than ever, we need to address the whole child. Best practice shows that students who feel safe and secure are better prepared to engage in their learning. Therefore, we are excited to continue to use Second Step in our K-8 classes beginning in September to further strengthen our commitment to social and emotional learning. (For more information about the benefits of SEL, please check out the quick video below.)
Second Step offers weekly, age-appropriate virtual lessons for students to help them with various social and emotional skills. These weekly lessons will build on and support all of the great work we're doing at Twain to support our students. Combined with our schoolwide restorative practices and consistent PBIS expectations, we are creating a firm Tier 1 foundation for supporting all of our students' social, emotional, and behavioral development.
Please view the flyers below to learn more about the program topics, and look for additional updates from classroom teachers and ALL district newsletters.
Report Cards
If your child did not receive their report card at the end of last year, please contact the main office as soon as possible. It is possible your address needs updating in our system.
