CONGRATULATIONS MRS. KATHLEEN DAULTON ON YOUR WELL-DESERVED RETIREMENT!
As this school year comes to a close, the Archdiocese of Las Vegas wish to congratulate Mrs. Kathleen Daulton on her upcoming and well-deserved retirement. While Mrs. Daulton has served the Archdiocese as Associate Superintendent for the last 5 years, her long-standing dedication and devotion to the mission of Catholic schools is quite extensive and most impressive. As many of you know, Mrs. Daulton held the position of Principal at St. Viator School from 1999 until 2015. However, prior to her arrival in Las Vegas, Kathleen served the Archdiocese of Cincinnati in many roles as Teacher, Principal, and Associate Superintendent. There she was named recipient of the prestigious NCEA "Distinguished Principal Award." Although Kathleen "retired" from St. Viator after 16 years, she continued to serve our schools as a consultant for United Testing Services, working diligently with Counselors and School Nurses. She also held leadership positions in support of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton and St. Anne Schools. One of her many passions has been working with students who have special needs, creating programs of inclusion long before others were willing to do so. Upon accepting her current position as Associate Superintendent, Kathleen's leadership and support of our schools was most strongly felt during COVID and its aftermath. Implementing and guiding the processes for the use of EANS Funding ("Emergency Assistant to Non-public Schools") provided our schools with essential support services, staffing, technology, software, subscriptions, professional learning, and supplies. These allocations ensured our ability to address potential learning losses and the needs of students and teachers. For the last 4 years Kathleen has worked tirelessly to research and navigate our ability to obtain and continue the use of these funds on behalf of our students. Often asked why she has continued to serve our Catholic schools, Kathleen's answer has remained consistent: "The Lord has always given me everything I needed and many of the things I wanted ... Sharing my faith with thousands of children, helping them to grow in the love of Our Lord, and preparing them to live successfully ... What more could anyone ask for?" We have been blessed to collaborate with such a passionately devoted minister of Catholic education. She has guided us in countless ways, supporting our work to build communities of faith and academic excellence. We are forever grateful! Congratulations Kathleen!
St. Viator School Honors Kathleen!
FAREWELL & WELCOME
This time of year is bittersweet as we must say goodbye to some of our faculty and staff! We are grateful for their loyal service to the school and and the children of our community. At this time we want to offer Ms. Kayla Thayer our very best sentiments as she leaves our St. Viator Faculty. We have enjoyed Ms. Thayer as the teacher in 1B and hope she enjoys her next adventure Ms. Thayer is hopeful to continue dancing professionally for a new team next year while pursuing employment within the Catholic school system!
Mr. Ken Benito has worked at St. Viator for almost a decade and we wish him well in his new position at The Guardian Angels Cathedral within the Archdiocese of Las Vegas. Ken was a constant presence on our campus and we are so grateful for his hard work and dedication. Ken's efforts do not go unnoticed, and we truly appreciate the many ways he contributed to creating a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for all of us. From the early mornings to the late evenings, he was always there, ensuring that everything ran smoothly and that our facilities were in the best condition possible. His attention to detail made a significant difference in our daily lives. Thank you Ken for your continued work and we are grateful for everything you have done for us!
We welcome a new First Grade teacher in 1B! She wrote the following introduction to greet her new St. Viator Community! "Hi, my name is Mrs. Jessica Lawson and I am so excited to join the St. Viator family. I have been teaching 1st grade at Saint Anne for the last five years and had previously taught 1st grade for five years at a Catholic School in Los Angeles, CA. I grew up in Southern California and went to San Diego State University for my Undergraduate and Credential Program. I moved to Las Vegas in 2019 with my husband Mike and we adopted our cat Elvis in May 2020. When not teaching, I love to travel, cook, and read. I am looking forward to an amazing school year next year with you all!"

Does Your Child Need Tutoring This Summer?
There is not a summer school option for students this summer, but students may be able to receive tutoring. Please contact Mrs. Lisa Boyce at lboyce@stviator.org. Mrs. Boyce will be coordinating tutoring offerings for students. If your St. Viator student needs tutoring, Mrs. Boyce will contact your child's previous year's teacher to determine which concepts would be most beneficial to reinforce grade level learning. Students can also receive help with their summer assignments and summer reading!
