The Stingray Review
Seaside Elementary
Dear Seaside Families,
We have two more weeks before we go on spring break! Let's make every day count! We are so excited the sun is shining and the weather is starting to be beautiful in our area. Grades 2nd through 4th has completed their MAP testing unless your student has to do a make-up. We are so proud of all of our students for doing their personal best! Thank you for continuing to talk with your student to always persevere and do their very best at all times. We are seeing some exciting growth. If you celebrate St. Patrick's Day have a wonderful time! We will see all of our students back at Seaside Elementary on Monday, March 18, 2024. Enjoy the weekend!

📣 Calling ALL Parents 📣
Dear Seaside Elementary Families,
My apologies, I had originally put out that this was just for 3rd and 4th grade parents. The survey can actually be filled out by all parents. The South Carolina Department of Education is asking parents of students participate in a School Climate Survey for their child/children’s school. Please visit www.horrycountyschools.net/24_climate_survey for brief instructions and links to complete the survey for our school. The survey is open now through Friday, April 12, 2024.
These results go on to our state report card. We would love if you gave us your feedback! Thank you so much for your help!☀️Rays for the Day Morning Show ☀️

Please check your child's backpack!
Seaside Families, I cannot stress this enough. We are seeing a big increase with things that should be staying at home. Please check your child's backpack for inappropriate items, personal electronic devices, toys, stuffed animals, Pokemon cards, sports cards, plush toys, key chains etc. We do not want your child losing their personal items. We are not responsible for any lost items. We do not want any items coming to school that may cause a safety issue or cause your child to get into trouble. For those who bring water bottles to school, please send in a water bottle with a strong lid. We are seeing lots of spills lately. We thank you in advance for doing this! We really appreciate it!

Lost and Found!
Parents we have so many items in our Lost and Found! If your child is missing something most likely it is in our Lost and Found. You are more than welcome to come up to the school to check everything out. As a parent myself I know and understand how expensive clothing can be. We are trying to make sure that any lost items are returned to our families. Please check out the pictures and see how much we have. We have so many items it is getting where we can no longer keep everything. Any unclaimed items will be donated at the end of April. Thank you!

Attendance Information
Arrival and Dismissal Reminders!
Our doors open for our students at 7 A.M.
- Breakfast begins at 7 A.M. and ends at 7:35 A.M.
- Tardy bell rings at 7:40 A.M. (Please make sure you are on time.) Our car rider line is empty from 7-7:25. Everything starts to pick up right at the last 15 minutes.
- Dismissal is at 2:40. If you are picking up in the car rider line, please have your car rider tag on your dash board the entire time or you will be asked to park and come to the front office.
Attendance Matters!
Research shows that consistent attendance is a critical piece of student success. Absences with doctor notes (medical, eye, dentist) will be marked as medically excused. If absent due to death in the family an obituary or memorial information is needed to excuse for bereavement.
If any of the following occur Horry County Schools requires an attendance meeting to implement an AIP (Attendance Intervention Plan):
- 3 consecutive unexcused absences
- 5 accumulative unexcused absences
- 10 unexcused tardy/early sign-outs
Morning Car Rider Line!
Please help out with our morning car rider line! The car rider line is empty from 7 till 7:25 A.M. Right at that last 10 to 15 minutes is where everything gets really busy. Please help us out in the morning and come earlier so when the bell hits at 7:40 A.M. all of our students will be in the building. This way our instruction can start on time. I appreciate all of your help with this.

Message from Nurse Hopkins
Please reach out to Nurse Hopkins if your child has any medical issues that the school may need to know (severe allergies, asthma, diabetes, seizures, etc.) If you need to reach her please call the school at 843-650-3490 or by email at MHopkins002@horrycountyschools.net. It is imperative that we know about any medical issues so that we are able to keep your child safe at all times. Please make sure that your child's shot records are up to date.
When coming to eat lunch with your child
We love having parents coming to eat with their child. Please sit with your child at the tables that have been put out for parents. Please make sure to not travel anywhere else but to the lunch room and back down to the office. Parents are not allowed to walk around with or without their student around the building unsupervised.Thank you for your attention to this!
Thank you for your help!
Students will only be allowed to eat with their parent. Please do not have a friend come to sit with you and your child. Please do not photograph any other children other than your child. We have a do not photograph list and we have students who cannot be photographed.
