Principal's Corner
Hello Eisenhower Families!
As our students head into their first full week of summer break, I wanted to make sure to share that "summer slide" is real. Knowing that our skills fade when we do not use them, it is important that students are continuing to read and practice math throughout the summer. If you're looking for an easy to access all encompassing resource, click the link below.
Summer PracticeI also wanted to take one last opportunity to thank each of you for your trust and partnership this year. Eisenhower Elementary is truly a special place with THE BEST students, families and staff members and it is an honor to serve this building and community. Have a wonderful summer! Principal DeRung
Eisenhower students recognized for Growth Recognition awards
The district identified students who made significant growth over the past school year in the areas of math, reading, and language acquisition using the MAP, MCA, CogAT and ACCESS. Growth was measured by comparing performance on two of the same assessments in any of the three examined areas. Students demonstrating growth within the top five percentile at each grade level districtwide were identified. Of these identified students, those with highest growth at each school were invited for School Board recognition at the Anoka-Hennepin School Board meeting May 8 to be recognized for the achievement:
Eisenhower Elementary - Luis Morales, Kenzie Barrett, Almedin Sivac, Zachary Kuehl, Austin Moua, Nada Abdelbaki, Cameron Axtman, Calvon Horton, Shawn Kowal, Kyler McGuiggan, Byrce Osebe, Matthew Ritter.
