What an incredible week it was to celebrate the beginning of the 2019-2020 school year. We kicked it off on Monday by welcoming families in a back to school staff "meet and greet," and we had several community partners in the crowd as well! Thank you to Little Bit Foundation, Gateway Greening, Girl Scouts of America, Give Kids a Smile, HomeWorks!, Unleashing Potential, and EyeSeeMe for participating in our event. We could not run our school without the support of our incredible community partners! Thank you to our staff who helped organize and run the event, especially for that amazing snow cone machine that gave us much-needed relief from the heat! And thank you most of all to our families for coming out and meeting us. We had a wonderful time getting to know each of our new families, and we loved seeing some familiar faces. One of our favorite parts of this event included seeing our former students stop by with their younger siblings. You have grown up and made us so proud. We are excited for your adventures in middle school, high school, and beyond!

On Tuesday, August 13th, we welcomed our students back into the building for their first day of school. It was an incredible day filled with joyful greetings, hugs, high fives, and learning! Right from the start, our staff had our students learning incredible things and connecting with one another. The sense of community here at Patrick Henry is unbeatable. Students helped each other, looked out for one another, and showed us how much they care about their classmates (both old and new!). We were so excited to have our students back in our school, and the first day of school was beautiful.

This week we had such a good time getting to know all of our students and our families. Our kids are the focus of our hard work, and they are the reason we have committed our careers to this field. Patrick Henry families, welcome back to school. We hope you find this school to be a safe, happy, and fun place to learn and grow. Thank you for choosing us!
