At Bowie Elementary, we are always looking for parents and grandparents to get involved.

• Our Parent Teacher Organization meets the first Tuesday of every month. They work on things like fundraising, teacher appreciation activities and parental involvement events.
• Mentors meet with kids that need encouragement and positive roll models to talk to. Mentors spend time with students and help them learn and grow as young people.
• Watch Dog Dads come to the campus to assist teachers and spend time with kids. They are positive male role models for students in our building. Contact Heidi Hamilton to sign up for mentoring or Watch Dogs.
• Campus Improvement Team is a group of parents, teachers and community members that monitor and review the campus improvement plan each year. This group meets 3-4 times per year and once during the summer to help implement ideas and strategies to improve teacher retention, facilities and student learning. Contact Mrs. Green if you are interested in helping with CIT.

Picture day is coming up this week. If your child is new to our campus, their yearbook photo will be taken on the 5th. If you want your child's fall pictures retaken, please let the office know before Nov. 5th. We will also be taking Christmas pictures of the kids. The photographer will take group pictures of siblings and let them pose with props. If you have a special request for your child or children, please come in with your children in the morning of the 5th to make sure we get the photos that you are interested in. The Holiday photos are a pre-paid session only. The students with paid packets will have photos taken Click on the form to print it.
