Westy Academy Field Day!

Monday is Field Day at Westy Academy, and every year our physical education teacher coordinates a fun-filled day of activities for our preschool-5th graders. This year's theme is DISNEY--and students are encouraged to come dressed as their favorite Disney character!

Students will rotate with their classrooms to different events throughout the building--and outside! Parents are welcome to attend and support their students during the day, simply check in at the front office when you arrive. Games begin at 8:40am for all classrooms.

Because we are expecting a very, very wet weekend of weather, our fields may be a little soggy come Monday. We encourage parents to send their children prepared for the day, with water bottle, tennis shoes, and a change of clothes if they happen to get wet. Students will be provided a sack lunch from the cafeteria, but are also welcome to bring a lunch from home.

What's Up, Westy Academy!

Students celebrated their CMAS testing, and took part in "CMAS Cinema" this afternoon, as part of a reward for their hard work. Students had earned "funny money" during testing weeks, and used that money to buy movie tickets, and concessions. The hallways were turned into a movie theater, and at 1:00pm, all 3rd-8th graders attended their chosen movie in their classroom theaters, enjoying an afternoon of relaxation after such taxing tests! This seems to something that the students always look forward to each year, and we are so grateful to our teachers who organize and execute this day for the kids.

After today, we only have 4 weeks left of the school year! Can you believe it!? With this in mind, some events are worth mentioning. Our Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) is gearing up to host the annual family outdoor movie night, Flicks on the Field! This event is always a fun one, and we encourage everyone to attend. This year, Wonka will be featured on the huge inflatable movie screen, while we sit under the stars. See below for more details on this amazing night!

Flicks on the Field--Wonka

It's here! Our annual Outdoor Movie Night, Flicks on the Field is only weeks away! Join us Friday May 10th for a spectacular evening watching a movie under the stars! We will be showing Wonka, with gates opening at 7pm and the movie beginning at 8pm. Bring blankets and lawn chairs, sit back and enjoy!
