Bluebonnet Book Breakfast
Thank you, students, parents and teachers for participating in our 4th Annual AIS Bluebonnet Book Breakfast. Students enjoyed breakfast treats as they talked about the books and voted for their favorite. Students nominated "The Cardboard Kingdom" by Chad Sell as the best book. The runner up was "Two Dogs in Trench Coat: Go To School" by Julie Falatko. Our results will be shared with the Bluebonnet Book Nominee Committee, which is supported by the Texas Library Association. The state voting results will be revealed in March.
Austin School Fair-Sat., 1/25 10:00 am - 1:00 pm
Tomorrow we will join 50 other area schools at the Bob Bullock Museum in downtown Austin for National School Choice's Austin School Fair. We look forward to promoting AIS with the greater community.
MAP Assessments Begin-Mon., 1/27
Our next session of Measure of Academic Performance Assessments will begin on January 27th. The testing schedule will be sent out soon. Make sure students eat well and get plenty of rest before their sessions.
Gala Wine Collection Continues
Each year, as part of our gala silent auction, we include a "wine cellar" from each class including bottles donated from families wishing to participate. So, if you have a favorite bottle of wine to donate, sign your class and last name with a sharpie (ex: Cheers from the Johnson Family-6e), and bring it to reception next week. Then watch for the awesome wine packages available for silent auction bidding at the event. Thanks for your libation participation!
February/March Lunch Orders Due-Wed., 1/29
February-March lunch menu calendars will be posted this weekend on the Family Portal. Orders must be placed by Wednesday, January 29th.
2019-2020 Family Satisfaction Surveys due Fri., 1/31
As part of our commitment to continuous growth and improvement, we conduct annual surveys of our community in order to gain insight into our school and its programs. Our 2019-2020 Family Satisfaction Survey will remain open through Friday, January 31st, 2020. Thank you so much your time and effort in providing us with your much-needed feedback. Families who participate in the survey have the option of entering our Trilingual Book Giveaway! At the end of the survey, you will be given details to enter the giveaway. Please remember to save these details. Because surveys are submitted anonymously, we will be unable to verify your submission in order to resend the giveaway details should you lose them. Of course, participation in this year's book giveaway is entirely optional. Thank you, as always, for your support of our community!
Gala Tickets and Sponsorships on Sale through 1/31
We hope you can join us at our 9th Annual Art Gala! This year's event will be held at the beautiful Central Public Library on February 22, 2020 from 6:30 - 11:00 pm. We hope you can join us for this celebratory event. Our gala includes silent auction items, a live student art-work auction, a dance party, and a wonderful chance to support your school and mingle with other guests for a fun, festive night. Tickets and sponsorship packages will be on sale through January 31st. This is our biggest fundraiser of the year bringing in over $100,000 to support our global education at AIS, so thank you for being a part of that. We look forward to seeing you there!
New Year Open House-Sat., 2/1, 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
On Saturday, February 1st, we will have an Open House for prospective families. We look forward to having them learn how special our school and community is. We are asking our Student Council members to join us and kick off the event. Student Council parents received an email with more information today. We always appreciate parent, student, and alumni participation as well. If you can come, thank you for signing up here.
