PTO Jog-A-Thon News: Event is on Thursday, October 10
The big event is this week! Included is a schedule of the running times for each grade. Our fundraising goal is $35k this year. As of Monday morning, we have raised approximately $28,000. Please use Pledgestar to get started or continue with your fundraising today! The funds we raise get used to pay for field trips, family events, teacher requested supplies, recess equipment, content for the classrooms and so much more.
Students will receive a new Jog-A-Thon t-shirt on Thursday!
If you have signed up to be a volunteer for Jog-A-Thon, please try to arrive early for your shift. The new volunteer check-in system can only accommodate one person at a time.
International Walk and Roll to School Day: Wednesday, October 9
International Walk & Roll to School Day
On October 9, join people from around the world as we celebrate International Walk + Roll to School Day. Students may walk, bike, scooter, skate, roll, bus or carpool to school and be entered to win fun prizes. Grand prize winners at each school will win a new scooter and helmet!
Visit the International Walk & Roll to School Day for more information.
PTO Lunch Clubs Kick-Off: Tuesday, October 15
We are excited to start offering Lunch Clubs on TUESDAYS for ALL grades starting next week! Students will have the opportunity to choose to participate in a club after lunch for the duration of their lunchtime recess.
The first session will be Art Club for grades K-2 and Friendship Bracelet Club for grades 3-5. Space is limited but spots will be offered on a class rotation so that all students will be able to participate at least one time during the session if they choose. We are looking for volunteers to help escort students from the cafeteria to the club (held in the portable 6) and to supervise the activity - please sign up for shifts here.
Additionally, if you have ideas for more Tuesday lunchtime clubs AND Tuesday after school clubs, please contact the Club Coordinators below. We should have information coming about some exciting after school clubs soon!

District News
Answer the Call for Beaverton schools!
It’s calling season! Between October 7-15, over 300 Beaverton School District high school students will volunteer their time and energy to reach nearly 20,000 community members during the Beaverton Education Foundation’s annual student-volunteer calling event.
Students participating in Answer the Call enhance and refine communications and marketing skills during all five call nights. These practical life and work skills are a bonus that students and future employers both value.
If you see “Beaverton Education Foundation” on your caller ID in October, please answer the call!
Oak Hills Recess Family Handbook
As we have welcomed students back to school, we have used these first several weeks reviewing our school community agreements. As we transition to Fall, sudents are learning community agreements for recess games as part of P.E. class. Attached, you will find a copy of our Oak Hills Recess Family Handbook. Please feel free to review these community agreements with your family. We appreciate your partnership as we support students in having a safe and fun school year!
