GIRLS SOCCER WINS - MOVE ON TO SECTION SEMI-FINAL
Congratulations to girls soccer on their 4-0 win last night over Roseville! The Mustangs will play the Panthers at Spring Lake Park on Thursday (10/10) at 4:00 PM. Gates open at 3:30 PM.

SENIOR PORTRAIT FORM - LAST DAY TO SUBMIT - OCTOBER 15
Complete the shared form no later than Tuesday (10/15) to indicate which senior portrait option you chose. Using David Bank Studios streamlines the process and provides consistency between pictures.
Options for Yearbook Senior Portraits:
- David Bank Studios will be on campus during lunches on Tuesday (11/5) for a free yearbook session. They will take 2-3 poses. The studio chooses the best photo and submits it to the yearbook staff. Sign up will open closer to the date. Purchase of the photo is optional.
- Book an appointment at David Bank Studios for your student’s yearbook photo before Friday (11/15). With this option, you may select the photo for the yearbook.
- Use school ID photo (NOT preferred due to quality for yearbook).
- Submit your own photo in .jpg format using this form by Tuesday (10/15). All photos are subject to editorial approval and must meet requirements.

COMMUNICATION NIGHT - TUESDAY (10/15)
To make an "in-person" appointment with a teacher or dean (must be pre-scheduled through ParentVUE:
- Sign in to ParentVUE (need teacher names--schedules are available in ParentVUE)
- Click on “Conferences”
- Select the times that are most convenient for you (select one (1) time slot per teacher)
- Click the “email me” button to receive your appointment schedule
Time slots may fill up quickly and a few teachers will be unavailable that evening. If you are unable to get a time slot, email the teacher to set up an alternative way to receive information (e.g., phone call, email update, etc.).

CHOIR CONCERT: The Mounds View High School Choir Concert is Thursday (10/10) at 7:00 PM in the Auditorium! It is free to attend, and we'd love to see you there!
GIRLS SWIM & DIVE: Good luck to Girls Swim & Dive on Thursday (10/10) vs Roseville, and at True Team Sections on Saturday (10/12). Go Mustangs!!
ROBOTICS TEAM: Robotics team meets on Thursday (10/10) from 7:00-8:30 PM in Room 139. Save the date! Annual Competition (free & open to the public) will be April 2-5, 2025 in UMN's Mariucci Arena.
BOWLING TEAM: Good luck to the Bowling Teams on Friday (10/11) at Flaherty's 3:30 PM. Go Mustangs!
MATH TEAM: Math Team is hosting the American Mathematics Competition (AMC) 10A and 12A on Wednesday (11/6). If you are interested in this math contest, you do not need to be a part of the math team to compete. Contact Mrs. Higginbotham to get more information. Last day to register is Wednesday (10/23).
AWARENESS TRAINING
As we prepare for a great year of spreading inclusion through the MVHS Best Buddies program, we would like to invite students planning to participate in the club to attend a Disability Awareness Training. If you didn't attend training on Wednesday (10/10) be sure to sign up on Wednesday (10/16). This is for all students who plan to serve as either a Peer Buddy or an Associate Member. Sign up in the Student Support Time app. Any questions, reach out to Mrs. Keimig in Room 132.

If you plan to attend a contest on campus this fall, winter or spring, be prepared and purchase your ticket (or pass for year) before you arrive. There are NO CASH SALES this year. SLALOM SKI RACING & ALPINE SKIING
Do you love slalom ski racing or alpine skiing and are competitive and curious? The varsity alpine ski racing season is quickly approaching so it's time to start thinking about tuning your skis and hitting some gates. Registration is now open! Join us for our season kick off meeting on Tuesday (10/29) at 7:00 PM. Meet in the Forum at Mounds View High School to learn more about our upcoming season. Skiers and one parent/guardian must attend.

POWDERPUFF FOOTBALL - SATURDAY (10/26) - 6:30 PM
Join us for Powderpuff Football in Mustang Stadium! There will be four (4) teams (Freshmen, Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors). Each team is capped at 30 players. The first 24 sophomores and juniors to sign up will receive a team t-shirt. All freshmen and seniors will receive a t-shirt. Cost to play is $5.00. Sign up by purchasing a "ticket" on the hometown app or the high school ticketing website.

Mustang football players will coach and referee. Students and community are encouraged to be spectators. Spectators and players are encouraged to bring a donation for the Ralph Reeder Food Shelf.
If there is bad weather, we are not able to refund. There will be no formally organized practices before the games, but feel free to connect with your classmates and set up a time to practice. Contact Daggett (room 235) or Hess (room 40) with any questions.
GRADE 10 - PRE-ACT TEST - TUESDAY (10/22)
PreACT testing is important for all students, as it focuses attention on both career preparation and improving academic achievement. The PreACT test will point out students’ academic strengths and areas that need improvement. It can help those students who are college-bound, as well as those who plan to enter the workforce directly after high school. NATIONAL SCHOOL LUNCH WEEK
We will celebrate the week of October 7-16! A few highlights include:
- The Minnesota Great Apple Crunch will be held on October 7. A local Gala apple from Rabideaux Farms will be offered at lunch.
- Students can show off their photography skills by entering the School Lunch Photo Contest. Submissions are accepted October 7-16.
- Locally-made Sambusas will be a featured entree choice on October 16. Students will be able to choose from a beef or a lentil Sambusa. Click here to view the online lunch menu.
Sambusas are a traditional Somali staple. Hoyo, the producer of these Sambusas, describes them as "delicious fried pastries certain to transport students and staff to a whole new world of taste". Each Sambusa is hand-made in Bloomington.

Winter sports first day of tryouts/practice are as follows:

- Girls Basketball – November 11 (9th grade tryouts are 11/5 & 11/7)

Your athlete must have a valid sports physical on file prior to registering. Physicals are valid for three (3) years from the date of the exam. If your physical expires during the season, the system will not let you register. Parents can check the current status of the physical through their ParentVUE account by selecting the "Student Info" tab. The physical date is located at the bottom of the page.

40TH ANNUAL COURAGE KENNY CLASSIC
Join us at Mounds View High School on November 2-3 for the 40th Annual Courage Kenny Classic Wheelchair Basketball Tournament! This exciting event brings teams from all over the country to compete. Come watch these incredible athletes compete!
