The Spring Road Scoop
Sept. 6, 2021
Off to a Great Start!
Thank you for all of your help, support and patience this past week! We have had a great start to our school year because of our students, staff and families! Each day we are learning and making adjustments to help our school be the safest and most efficient as possible. The students have been fantastic responding to our expectations of being safe, respectful and responsible.
A few friendly reminders:
- There is NO supervision on the playground before school. Students are able to enter the school at 7:50 AM.
- When picking students up after school, students will meet their families at the front of school near the main entrance/ office doors.
- Buses are NOT able to leave early this year. Therefore, we need to create a space for the buses to exit around 3:10. We will need your help in safely clearing this area so our buses can depart.
Thank you again for your support and patience. I am truly grateful for our Spring Road School Family!
Covid Protocols/Procedures- Updated 9-3-21
I am hoping this information will help answer questions about our Covid protocols and procedures. As we work with Winnebago County Health Department and review our data, this information may change. We are asking that families complete a Covid 19 testing consent form in advance to expedite the testing process when the need arises. Please click HERE for the form. We will keep these completed forms on file. A paper copy of the consent form will also be available in the office.
*All scenarios are for unvaccinated students*
Scenario #1: Symptomatic Student in School
Testing should be completed at school prior to being sent home. If the child is home and the parent is calling in the absence- parent can make an appointment to come to school with the child to be tested.
The student will be sent home for 10 days from onset of symptoms.
The student may return to school with a negative PCR test and free of symptoms.
Scenario #2: Close Contact to a Positive Case at School
The student needs to quarantine for 14 days from last contact with the positive case.
The student should take a PCR test at school on day 5, day 6 or day 7 from last exposure to contact. If the test is negative, the student may return to school after the 7th day of last exposure to the positive case.
Scenario #3: Close Contact to a Positive Case in the Household
The student needs to quarantine for 14 days from the last contact with the positive case.
Scenario #4: Student is Positive for Covid 19
Notify the school immediately.
The student needs to quarantine for 10 days from the date of the positive test or the onset of symptoms.
Covid Symptoms requiring isolation are as follows:
1 major- cough, new loss of taste/smell, trouble breathing/shortness of breath, fever (above 100.4)
2 or more minor- sore throat, unusual fatigue, nausea/vomiting, diarrhea, congestion/runny nose, headache, body aches

Counseling at Spring Road
Are you interested in your child receiving mental health counseling at your school?
Us2 Behavioral Health has partnered with NJSD to provide mental health counseling at [your school name]. The Us2 therapists provide mental health counseling to children who are experiencing any number of issues including anxiety, depression, behavioral concerns, grief & loss, family issues, ADHD, and trauma.
Providing therapy at school has been found to increase the time students are in class learning while also allowing caregivers to spend less time taking their child away from school to drive them to counseling appointments.
If you are interested in scheduling an appointment for mental health counseling for your child at Spring Road, please contact Mrs. Mielke (pmielke@neenah.k12.wi.us) or call Us2 Behavioral Health Care at (920) 903-1060
Room Reps Wanted

Please fill out this Google form by September 15th https://forms.gle/HQxtinECsRaPw2ET6
We will be meeting Thursday September 16th at 6:30pm in the Spring Road Library. Any person interested in becoming a Room Rep is welcome to join us.
