Mountain Lions
September Edition
And we are off!
I would like to take a moment and thank everyone for your support as we adjust to a new year and new procedures. Students are quickly adapting to their learning environments and we are here to support them to working to their full potential.
Thank you for joining us for Open House and teachers are looking forward to meeting with you individually to discuss ways to celebrate and support your child's academic and behavioral growth during parent teacher conferences on September 18-20th. If you have not scheduled an appointment please do so with your child's teacher. Students will be released from school at 10:55 am to accommodate conferences. Please ensure your student knows how they will get home on these early release days.
As a reminder, school starts promptly at 7:45 am. Students do not need to arrive before that time unless they are eating breakfast in the cafeteria. Students who arrive shortly before the bell tend to make the transition into class and stay focused more than those who show up early and are not eating breakfast.
Warm regards,
Principal Ramirez
Candy grams are back!!!
Our back to school candy grams will be on sale next week. Candy grams are $1 and will include a tag, lollipop, and to get us the back to school mood...a cool pencil. Students may purchase them Monday-Friday directly from their teacher. Students will write their name on a tag as well as the name of who they are sending it to and the students teacher. We will take care of the rest. Candy grams will be delivered on Friday.
Picture Day
Our first picture day will take place on August 27th. Please send home picture information in student homework folders once it is recieved. As a reminder all students and staff are to have their pictures taken during the first picture day.
Student Safety Comes First - Important Reminders
To ensure the safety of everyone I would like to remind families of the following:
- Students may be dropped off AFTER 7:20 am. Students should never be left alone at a gate or in a parking lot.
-We are a closed campus with limited points of entry and exit based on available supervision. Only identified gates may be used to access the playground. Never climb over or try to enter a secure gate.
-Parents may walk their students to the exterior door of their teachers classroom and say goodbye at the door in the morning before the bell rings. After the bell rings only authorized personnel may be in the school building.
- Late arrivals will be escorted to class by authorized personnel.
- The entrance off of the bus bay is only for PRESCHOOL students. All others need to use the identified gates.
-Volunteers must be approved through TUSD. As our focus is on instruction, all classroom volunteers must schedule visits ahead of time with the teacher.
Maldonado Family Handbook
Wondering where morning drop off is? (All drop offs will be off of the main playground on Tetakusim) Where should my child line up? (Depends on teacher)What day can I bring in a goodie for my childs birthday? (Fridays at the end of the day) Answers to all of these questions and so much more can be found in our Maldonado Family Handbook. You can find the file here Maldonado Family Handbook.
