Hadley PTA Fall Fest
Hadley students enjoyed after school festivities last week during the PTA's Hadley Fall Fest. Students lined up for a meal from Glen Ellyn's Heavenly Hotdog Cart, and enjoyed entertainment from DJ Heavy E while testing their skills in the zombie maze. Thank you to Hadley PTA for sponsoring this event!
SCARCE Collaborates with Forest Glen Environmental Club
Forest Glen's One Earth Environmental Club hosted SCARCE (School and Community Assistance for Recycling and Composting Education) in an assembly where they focused on how and why we reduce, reuse and recycle. Students learned to consider making better choices to conserve our natural resources for a healthier planet. Examples of some of the work One Earth is doing include: Reusing gently used spirit wear, picking up litter around school and collecting bread tags to recycle for cash that will purchase wheelchairs for children.
One Earth is made up of 50 Forest Glen 4th and 5th graders who have a passion for learning, sharing and working together to benefit our environment. Thank you to Mrs. Hokenson, Forest Glen LMC Aide, for leading One Earth!

Why Detox Plastic from Your Body?
Improved Health
Limiting your exposure to chemicals[3] such as bisphenol A (BPA) and phthalates commonly found in plastic products like plastic bags and plastic bottles can significantly reduce the risks linked to hormone disruption, reproductive issues, and chronic diseases.
Enhanced Vitality
Eliminating BPA and phthalates from your body improves hormonal function, mood[4] and emotional well-being. This can pave the way for a healthier and more energetic you.
Weight Management
Minimizing plastic consumption decreases exposure to toxic chemicals that can alter hormones, weaken the immune system, and cause long-term health problems. Plastic-conscious living improves weight control, health, and sustainability for people and the planet as a whole.
Hormonal Balance
Plastics contain some endocrine/hormone disrupting chemicals. One significant benefit of detoxing from plastics is stabilized and/or restored hormonal balance. This can lead to enhanced reproductive health and a decreased risk of endocrine-related disorders.
Better Digestion
Choosing fresh, organic foods over takeout food and plastic-packaged alternatives has a positive impact on the digestive system and gut health. This provides your body with essential nutrients and fibers that support proper digestion which aid in breaking down food effectively, promoting better nutrient absorption.
Environmental Protection
Plastic waste (plastic cutlery for example), if not properly disposed of or recycled, can end up in landfills, oceans, and other ecosystems, causing harm to marine life and wildlife. By minimizing our plastic exposure, we decrease the likelihood of contributing to this pollution and promoting a cleaner, healthier environment.
