First Semester Student Engagement and Behavior Report
The Student Services department provided a progress report on the first semester student engagement and behavior at a recent West Bend School Board meeting.
The focus remains on fostering a positive school culture through clear expectations, consistent reinforcement, and data-driven interventions to support all students. In fact, Jared Kiesow and Dave Riley, assistant principals at the West Bend High Schools, presented at the Wisconsin Associate Principal Conference on the high school’s student discipline framework. The session highlighted the process used to develop the disciplinary rubrics and demonstrated how they use the rubric in response to various scenarios.
Key Highlights from First Semester:
96% of students across all grade levels have 0-1 major behavior referrals.
99% of all students across all grade levels have 0-1 major behavior referral in the Be Safe pillar of the WBSD Way
99.9% of students have had no incidents of physical contact or fighting
Our schools continue to prioritize:
Clear expectations that are communicated regularly.
Data-driven interventions to support students.
Consistent behavior responses to ensure fairness and accountability.
Family engagement to keep parents informed and involved.
