What a wonderful week it has been! We had a great turn out for the final Meet the Teacher nights this week with 1st and 2nd grade. Thank you for your support of our teachers and the broader Madeira school community!

A gentle reminder that students are not to have access to personal communication devices (cell phones, smart watches) during the school day. We appreciate your support with this expectation to ensure kids are fully engaged in the school day. Keeping personal devices at home or in backpacks during school hours is best. Madeira City Schools is not liable for lost/stolen or damaged personal items.

If you need to access your student(s) or to share a message with them, calling the Front Office and/or sending a message to your child's teacher is best. We appreciate your support in keeping our students safe and engaged while at school!

MES is opening a Care Closet to help give back to families in need within our community. We are collecting school supplies, backpacks, clothes, frozen food/non-perishables, and household items (such as laundry detergent, shampoo/conditioner, deodorant, etc.).

If you would like to donate, feel free to bring these items to the MES Front Office. If you have any questions, please connect with our School Counselors, Christin Bohrofen and Emory Bergdoll.

Thank you for your patience and flexibility as we work to align the PikMyKid app for smooth dismissal. We are now using the app and would like to have all parents and families be using it as well.

If you are a new family to Madeira there is a "parent connection" code that should have come home with your child. Download the app, scan the code, and you should be connected to your child(ren) in the app.

FOR ALL FAMILIES - PLEASE READ

1. Set your default pickup mode before Friday, September 8th.

The default pick up mode should be the pickup that is the majority of the time.

If the pickup mode changes and is not the default, that is when you delegate a change for those specific dates from the calendar.

2. Make any "day of" dismissal changes by 2:30pm. This cut off time ensures that your child's teacher is informed and prepared for a smooth dismissal.

3. All "early dismissal" changes must be entered before 8:30am on the day of, if it is later than 8:30am then please email the teacher and Sonja Burniston.

This is the biggest fundraiser for MES. It can only be successful with great volunteers, like you! Please check out the VOLUNTEER positions posted in the SIGN UP LINK and select the position and time that works best for you. No prior experience needed. Volunteers get a pass to shop the presale! 

We will be open for the Before Care Session. We are doing this, so the Changing Hands Sale has time to set up and check everyone in. If you have any questions, please let me know.
