Lake Orion High School
March 4, 2024

Thank you, Voters
Thank you, LOCS families, for taking the time to vote on the February 27 millage proposals for Lake Orion Community Schools. As the district shared following the results, each millage passed with more than 60% support, certainly due to the turnout of our families.
Each replacement millage was a 10-year proposal, so their passage ensures full student funding from the state of Michigan from the non-homestead millage and the expanded allowable uses from the sinking fund millage.
Our school’s goal was to provide as much education and information about the proposals so that voters were appropriately informed as they completed their ballot.
Your investment in our students’ education and the strength of the district moving forward is greatly appreciated.

Teacher and Student surveys will be completed during the school day on Tuesday, March 5th. LOHS is seeking parents and guardians of LOHS students to take a few minutes out of their day to complete this anonymous survey. Free Tutoring
Dear LOHS Parents,
Lake Orion High School is extremely excited to announce a continuation of our free tutoring program. This program will allow your child to connect directly with LOHS staff in specific content areas (math, science, social studies, etc.) outside of normal school hours. These tutoring sessions are one hour and can take place either in person or virtually through Microsoft Teams (this is decided between the tutor and the student(s) in the group). This tutoring is intended as remediation as opposed to homework help; however, homework is often utilized to teach skills. As we do not have an inexhaustible number of tutors available, this program is on a first come, first serve basis.
To sign up your child, please fill out this form.
If you have additional questions, please contact Cathy Srock at Catherine.Srock@LOk12.org.
SERVICE HOURS SPOTLIGHT
Service hours must be completed through a non-profit organization or event that benefits the community and should focus on making a positive impact on others. Students may not complete service hours by “helping” in a business as free labor. Additionally, students may not choose to not be paid and count that as service hours, such as babysitting and animal care. Please review Rules and Regulations of Hours on the LOHS Service Learning website.

The staff member can be nominated by a student, parent, community member or even their own colleague. We ask for the submitter's name and contact information to follow up with specific questions if necessary.
