Destination Imagination (DI) is a volunteer-led non-profit organization that develops educational programs to teach students the creative process from imagination to innovation. The organization has more than one million alumni and 38,000 volunteers around the world.
Tournaments are held in the spring where student teams showcase their solutions to STEAM-based (science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics) Challenges. Participants build lifelong confidence while working together to solve any challenge.
The team has a manager, but the students are responsible for working out their solutions together without adult interference.
Teams meet once a week after school (we are looking at Fridays) until late December or early January, and then will meet on some weekend days that work for the team.
Loomis Grammar has had teams advance to the State Tournament every year since the 2021-2022 season. We are building a middle school team (6-8th) but if there are willing parents, we can discuss a 3rd-5th grade team.
