We Met The Author!
Our students participated in an Author visit this week. Below is a picture of Roosevelt students who met with the Pine Tree author, Supriya Kelkar.
Gr, 3-5 Mileage Club began this week
The Mileage Club will encourage kids to stay active with a focus on fun, engagement and physical activity. Each student is invited to walk or run a predetermined course on our playground during lunch recess on Thursdays and Fridays. Each lap is recorded for each student with a QR code on their Mileage Club lanyard. As students accumulate the miles, they will earn "Toe Tokens" (and our PTO is working on purchasing a Husky Paw) to add to chain attached to their backpack. The goal is to get kids moving! We hope that having another option during recess will keep students busy and participating in a healthy activity.
Thank you to the Lederman Kwartowitz Center for Orthopedics & Sports Medicine (LKO) for sponsoring 3rd-5th grade students to be a part of the Mileage Club.
