Annetta Announcements for Families
September 26, 2024
A Message from Mrs. Elgin...
It was fantastic to see so many of you at "Welcome to our House" last week. I know this time of year is super busy and it can be challenging to fit in all of the activities! We hope you enjoyed the long weekend!
Next week, we will host our "Lemonade & Literacy" event - this is a time for students to bring their grandparents (or other grand adults!) to the school. The PTO will be serving cookies and lemonade in the cafeteria and the Book Fair will be in the library. Please RSVP below.
Next week is also Celebrate Attendance Week! See below for more information.
Better Together,
Holly Elgin
Annetta Principal

Please note that if a student goes to the doctor and then comes to school (at any time during the same day), they will be considered Medical-Present. We will also be providing more attendance information soon.
Attendance Matters at Annetta!
As a reminder, we have streamlined absence reporting for all of our campuses for this school year. It is very important that we have documented reasons for absences so that we can ensure your student is given an excused absence when needed. Please take a look at our attendance website here for expanded information on school absences, attendance reporting times and more, and please utilize this form throughout the year to report absences. This form is also linked on the Attendance Matters website www.aledoisd.org/attendancematters.
Lauren's Law Requests must be submitted at least 10 days in advance.

The Parker County Hospital District is asking that parents/staff pre register for the Bearcat Care Clinic visits now, in lieu of waiting until a visit is needed.

Positivity Project
Dear Families,
Next week, our school community will focus on the character strength of Forgiveness. Forgiveness means letting go of anger toward those who have done wrong and accepting that people make mistakes.
When we forgive, we can move past being hurt and make peace with what happened. Forgiveness heals and strengthens our relationships. It doesn’t erase what happened, but it helps us let go of the hurt and move forward.
Seeking forgiveness shows that a person values relationships and understands the impact of their actions. It shows humility, accountability, and a willingness to make amends. By seeking forgiveness, a person shows they care about resolving conflicts and restoring trust. It also shows emotional maturity and a commitment to personal growth.
To practice and encourage forgiveness at home, please visit the Positivity Project’s mobile-friendly P2 for Families. There, you can watch a video, read a quote, and discuss three questions together.
Thank you for your continued support!
Sincerely,
